02 modifier/ voltage clamp, need help!

Well, Kooldino and Perfworks. . .let me know how the CEL battle goes. I'm very eager to resolve this. Meanwhile I guess I need to get that ECU swapped.

Well...Ive already seen 9psi blown p5 engines, but I want to know whyyyyy....thats what will keep me from boosting more than 7psi. I would prefer to work the intake manifold and the exhaust.
And of course i will end up getting his stage4 and boost up to 10psi

Anyway I am going to follow spoolins recomendations, I dont trust Gas Stations here, and even more because of the war. You never know when they put 89octane fuel on the 93octane TANK.

(on the p5's)
first of all they need to have better intercoolers on these pro5's.
next fuel delivery, evn with an auxilary pump you run the risk of not enoygh fuel at HIGH PRESSURES.to eleviate some of the problems it ould be a great idea to run an upgrade in the tank and for over kill inline pump also.
increase the stock injectors to 310cc's.
now this will alow somewhat trouble free operation at 9 psi.
with some head work and intake mods that car should pull like it has 11-12 psi and last a while on stock internals. the other route is to go fuel and ignition management but if you dont plan on higher boost levels nd tranny work and etc. ..........
anyway its how much you want in comparison to the budget you have available.

Quick note, just to let you guys know,

I just installed the Greddy A/F Gauge with its own Sensor, and its working perfect.
99% of the time im @ WOT, as soon as it passes 5000rpm the needle jumps to 11 sometimes 9 and steady between 13.5-12.5.

Problem is i got a CEL!:(

Im going to video record it soon, but will take pics sooner.

PD

Not turboed yet

mmmmmmmmhhhh. . . .Greddy A/F. I want one. . .
That or a nice wideband. . .putting em on the wish list.

igdrasil, we still up for a meeting when I head to San Juan next week?

Yes of course, I Hope by that day i will be turboed, please I hope!

why the CEL?

As the manual says:

Replacing the factory O2 sensor will require using the GREEN wire - output to the ECU

1. It could be that the signal that the greddy is sending to the ECU is not compatible, if this is the casem I will need to put the stock one and install the greddy one in a new location.

please forgive the ignorance but why cant you use the stock o2 sensor to get the voltage needed to check A/F ratio.
does this particular unit need to have its own sensor.and if so then iguess you will have to tap into the piping before you start this turbo install ?

I just wanted a good A/F Meter, and this one came with its own sensor, cant use the stock one, I think It gives more accurate info than using the stock sensor and take for example the autometer A/f gauge to monitor its readings.
Check the manual and the picture in the attachment.

oh so all your using is the one green wire from the stock harness?

yep.

The stock harness has 4 wires:
1. sensor signal (the one tapped, greddy sending signal to ECU)
2. sensor ground wire
3. heater 12v
4. heater ground

wires 2 3 and 4, are alone.

I think im going to end up installing both!

Hay man thanx for all your feedback....hehehe

thats why you are getting the cel. the ecu has inputs that tell if there is an open in ANY emmisions related circiut. i was reading about it yesterday .
all the wires need to be spliced into the aftermarket harmess and you wont have any problems running just one;)

Jajajaj thread Hi jacked...
The manual doesnt say anything about it, so I dont know what to do. It may dammage the unit If I try to do that...

what i mean by splicing is not to phisically cut the harness and use the wires from the ecu .
use those vampire clips they use to just run a parellel circiut . damn i wish i had a pic
like the ones the stereo guys use.
leave the harness for the unit intact .

Is the Greddy sensor actually a wideband, or just a standard, with a little more accuracy (I'm guessing the second one.).

Gauge looks good, good luck figuring out the CEL. Make sure you "document" the solution, there is bound to be a bunch of us going through this ordeal soon enough.

Like the ones made by 3M.

I know what you mean....those clips came with the unit too, but, what If I dammage the greddy computer running this parallel circuit?

I don't think you can damage the unit...you're just tapping into the same wire, right?
