GTSPEC parts installed on MSP (not 56k friendly)

Just got the parts installed. Again props to Jayson from Ravspec for his customer service and a great price.

The following parts were installed:

4 Points Ladder Brace
Front Lower Tie Brace
Front Strut Brace
Rear Link Reinforcement Panel
Rear V Brace
Rear lateral Arm Brace
Trunk Reinforcement bar
Lateral Linkage bar (trunk)

There was only one major problem with the install that we didn't expect. The Rear V Brace hits the rear sway bar due to Dave's Klunk fix. Maybe some kit of spacer will fix that problem. Other than that I'm happy with the kit.

yea .... im thinking to do this ... the car must feel unreal uh ?

I thought it was worth. Although my mechanic was making fun of the orange. The steering response is much sharper and the car feels more connected to the road.

The only problem I had was the Clunk (kinda like a pop or a thud) just when I accerlate from a stop. I know it's not the 4 point ladder because I had it installed a day before the other parts.

i have that same clunk ... but i dont have any of these parts installed ... it comes from an acceleration after a stop or when im accelerating and turning ... only happens when car is kinda cold

Solospeed: Hadn't had much chance to try it yet. I had to install the parts and get straight home to my unsuspecting GF (who had dinner already prepared)...I just hope she doesn't check out the trunk anytime soon.

Any ideas as to what may have caused it? Do you also have the klunk fix?

nice (2thumbs). how hard was it to install the stuff? the underbody braces look easy enough but how about the trunk braces? btw, is the handling difference like a night and day difference or just a moderate increase?

I tried to install the stuff myself, but ended up at the mechanics the next day. The bolt underneath the car was tight and I couldn't get the car up high enough to get the breaker bar in correctly. If you have the tools and you feel confident in your skills then it's not too bad. The trunk bars did require you to cut some of the plastic off (the piece that holds the cargo net). For the cross linkage bars, we needed to drill a bigger hole, since it was made as a direct bolt on to the rear strut bar.

I just need to fix that popping noise and then I will be 100% happy with the results. Maybe the endlinks need to be checked.

With just a 5 min impression, I believe it's a moderate increase in handling. I still haven't had a chance to take it to my fav spot yet.

Lookin good. It's on my to do list this summer along with an exhaust, SRI, FMIC, and hardpipes.

wow, you must be anxious to get to the track huh? I dont think our cars need all that but a few of those pieces would go great with my suspension mods
