New home for the Speed.

that's a sweet house.
Sounds like you and I have very similar jobs.
Now I need a buddy who needs some computer help that owns a landscaping company. New yard is 278'x692'.... House isnt near as big as yours though being around 2300SqFt.
I currently live in a gated community and I hate it. Home Owners Associations suck. Period.

I wouldnt base it on yashooa's experiences. 99% of the people I have met who are in his field are in at the very bottom of the IT pay scale and none live as luxuriously as he appears to. In fact I am guessing that his career has very little to do with the house he posted pictures of as it is more likely the result of smart investing and hitting it rich a couple times in real estate than it is the salary of a desktop technician.

base your degree on what you want to do. If you want to work with computers/technology than go with the MIS, then if you decide you want to get into management go back to school and get the mba. if you are enjoying IT work then dont bother with the mba because once you make it to management you wont be doing it anymore.

Thus far I have only sold one house ( I did make 40 tax free g's off it) and what has made me move into building houses and selling them is the fact that the capital gains laws changed. I am not the bottom of the National salary pool or the top I am quite comfortably in the middle :) My wife is a nurse and she makes pretty good money as well. My company really values the job I do, pays me bonuses and gives me good raises so I feel very fortunate to be here. I have been here 6 years.
My Wife and I have to be frugal with our money and stay out of debt. Our goal is to take half of each sale and place it into investments every 2-3 years and buy what we want with cash from the other half.
My schooling was in Nursing and I only have three years of college :)
My company will pay all my tuition, books, and fees if I decide to go back.
I'm sure I will...but not to finish the Nursing gig.
