Espelir Springs for Protege5

I just dropped on espiler as well. I will say that the handling advantage is freakin incredible... the thing I noticed first off that I wasn't even expecting isthat it's actually hard to get that little bit of wheelspin on takeoff since the car doesn't squat back andlift the front as much. Ride quality has not degraded substancially, save for things like expansionjoints on bridges where your car does a bit of the front-to-back "lowered ride" hop, but it's very slight and hardly annoying, but moreover ENTIRELY worth the tradeoff.

My car is brand new all over again. I thought it was fun before, but any recollection of stock now just makes me thinkof terms like "wallow" and "float" taking turns at speeds taht used to be exciting are now a yawn. I was merging onto a different freeway behind a Matrix and we started pushing it. I noticed their car do waht mine used to and lean over and start pushing while I wasn't even really feeling like I was driving alltaht fast.

Here's the couple pics I grabbed just on my way back over the pass from our Karting meet. Got 300+ miles on my springs by the 2nd day they've been on and I love it. Honestly I've no other P5 suspension experience, but this vs stock is incredible... should've dropped a long time ago..

Car looks great man, trying to make up my mind between goldlines and these. Do you have any more pics of your car with racing harts on, hopefully from the side so i can see how much fender gap remains with these springs.

Thanks... and umm, no pics quite yet, it's settled a bit, though. There's still some fender gap, but not tons. It looks really damn good. I'd say these are the way to go for a more performance-based setup. Form what I've heard the goldlines are a bit on the soft side. Also, I'm not 100% positive, but looking at the wind of the coils, it DOES seem that the rears are progressive, front linear. Eitherway, my car handles awesome now. I'll try to grab some pics soon. working 2jobs through christmas, should have a bit of a lull afterwards, bare minimum...

Has anyone gone from Eibachs to the Espelir springs? How do they compare? I have ridden in a car with Eibachs and did not find the ride that bad. I commute 80 miles a day and do not need a ride that is uncomfortable.

Thanks

Espelir rides way better than the Eibach. The car bounces and pushes in the corners with Eibach. With Espelir the car looses the bounces and turn-in is outstanding.

Thanks for the input. How do you find the ride over the highway, expansion joints? I'm 47 so I am looking for a ride I can live with as a daily driver.

Thanks

Bruce

The bumps are definitely felt, but not much more than my friends stock 01 pro. My wife actually said the ride was hardly different. That's the best endorsement I can think of.

Alright, well after a couple weeks, these have settled a bit, Here's a recent shot for whoever was asking. Actually, though it seems to be a bit lower now than wheneve rI grabbed this pic (think it was early last week.) EItherway gives you a good idea. we're not talkig tucked still, just about perfect IMO. Ride is still very good. I do feel rough streets a bit more, and I've noticed that clearing all parking lots/driveways and parking stops isn't as easy. It will not ride like stock, but that's exactly what I was hoping for... Don't get me wrong it's nothing horrible, and entirely liveable, but there is a difference. Especially in the twisties ;)

Speaking of twisties, I've got no experience with eibach, but compared to stock, my car now doesn't wallow as much, and does have a MUCH nicer turn-in. no swaybar yet, and still it steps out just about perfectly. Atleast much easier than before.

Yup, I have the springs, and I am riding on 17" volks, but the springs aren't on the car yet. Pictures will be posted at the end of the month.

Espelir Springs

bump

my P5 is currently riding on racingbeat springs. they've worked out great so far. my only complaints is the uneven drop and the lack of a drop. i'm planning on upgrading my dampers and rear anti-sway bar/endlinks this spring so the timing is good. i guess i'll just revamp the entire suspension then.

i'ld like bundle all the suspension parts in one package: (Espelir/Tokico HP/AWR)

i was also thinking about a rear strut tower brace but maybe that's not necessary. i'm not sure if that would help much more.

i can pay when the springs are available.

btw protejay5 i'm in south central wisconsin.
