Yeah, that's the problem. The A/C housing and bracket make it tight. Looking at iON's, it doesn't look that bad, but you would really have to have a car for test-fitting.trbomp5 said:If I had a MSP stock downpipe, I could make a jig, then make a downpipe from it. I've never seen a msp in person, so idont know what kind of clearance issues there are though

the filter relocation kit was part of the oil and tranny cooler kit from Summit Racing. It was $99, plus like an $8 handling fee. The relocation kit alone (which they offer for like about $12 i believe, would still add about maybe a qt at least. Figure about 8' of hose and a filter that holds a qt itself, you should gain about a qt total I think. Tthe hose is 1/2" id.flat_black said:5.5 quarts? Wow! That's a LOT more than the stock 3.7! =) How much was the filter relocation setup? And how much do you think just the relocation kit would increase the capacity? That's a real bang up job you did there! Schedule 80, though... Damn. That's really, really, really thick! That's a lot of weight on your block, too; Did you fab up a support bracket to keep the weight off of the engine durring lash, 'cause that'll end up stripping the threads out of an aluminum head pretty quickly, if it lashes too hard, I'd imagine. Looks amazing, though!
You see what i had to do with my thermostat housing to get mine to fit. Its all pretty tight in there!Spooled said:Yeah, that's the problem. The A/C housing and bracket make it tight. Looking at iON's, it doesn't look that bad, but you would really have to have a car for test-fitting.
Yeah, I have been looking at mine for the longest time imagining how much easier it would be to put a DP there with a 2" long thermostat! I wonder if there is another car out there with the same flange but a longer neck? That would be a great solution.trbomp5 said:You see what i had to do with my thermostat housing to get mine to fit. My brother-in-law's 626 with the 2.0l engine has its housing the same place but the neck pointing towards the a/c compressor..I'll try to get some good pics for you guys...Spooled said:Yeah, I have been looking at mine for the longest time imagining how much easier it would be to put a DP there with a 2" long thermostat!
