you're right.. it is SOHC and makes 132 hp.. i wanted to add to your comment that you can get the DOHC motor in a first gen non R/T as well (it's called the Neon SPORT [dodge] and the Neon EXPRESSO [plymouth]) ..

it seems people always assume the R/T is the "fast" neon.. when you could get the same motor in the SPORT, just with a different suspension setup (and also the option of an automatic) but that's really the only difference.. so the R/T isn't the only fast model.
