One more questions on droppimg a 2.0L engine to replace a 1.8L. Will all the existing parts from the 1.8L engine that are required and must be put on the 2.0 L used engine work properly ? Water Pump, timing belt, manifolds, sensors, computer etc.

2000 Protege ES with 1.8 L Automatic @ 102K. Mechanic says we broke rod, cracked block and must replace engine. Oil starved sometime ago? I assume from previous owner. Three questions - Has this been a big issue with this engine? Does anyone know of a good source of used or rebuilt engines...

OPdate - Autozone OBD2 read P0106 Bad MAP sensor. I had it replaced at the same time as the CA. I will take it back to the service shop this week.

How do I go about re-attaching the wires to the OD button. They did not break at removal. Knob ame off too easy. Not sure how long they were disconnected. One idea that I had was to add two wires to the OD button and then splice the existing wires to the new ones.
