Your head unit should not require a security code if you take it out unless you've set the security code. From the factory they come with the code off, so unless you've turned it on, and set the code, then you should be fine.

Well, I live in an area when WOT is ill-advisable, so I hardly ever get to a point where I feel to much hesitation. But, I can say that the car does feel quite a bit smoother in the rpm's I do get into. Nice and smooth up into 4-4.5k. That's about all I get to before I'm above the speed limit.

I got my hardpipes today. Install was very straightforward, albeit time consuming. Install by myslef took just about 2 hrs. DSM suggested, as I do now, to have a helper. Wish I had gotten one. Anyway, the quality is excellent and I have no regrets about purchasing these. Definitly put the pipes...
