Ok i have my gear to install if i take my headunit out of the dash will it work when i put it back in or will i need a code that i don't have?

damn, I want my Sirius tuner so bad, but they won't ship them to Canada...sorry for the threadjack, but if anybody from the states wants to let me use their address fro shipping that'd be great, then ship it to me, and I'll pay the shipping from you, and maybe a lil on that;). Oh, and I don't think you need a special code, unless you have the security code already set or something....but who does that?

Once you get it installed, you call up your code number on the HU. Write it down, get your credit card, and call Sirius. (oh, yeah, tune your HU to Sirius mode. All you will get is the demo channel) They will take your HU number, then your CC number (get a 1yr. contract)...30 seconds later, your HU will be Sirius active. Enjoy!

Sirius is much better than XM. My GF has XM and the programming is not as good.

Hook up the tuner. Put it on Sirius mode and then call them up. Pretty painless.

I was afraid that if i pulled my headunit out of the dash to do the instal that the HU would lock and i would then need the "code" to make it work again?

^^^ That is what I thought you meant actually but then everone else made me think I was crazy. I didnt unplug mine when i did it but from what I have gather there is no code needed. I know there is that option in the menu that says CODE but I have never played with it because I was afraid to lock myself out of it. Sorry I am not of any help.

Your head unit should not require a security code if you take it out unless you've set the security code. From the factory they come with the code off, so unless you've turned it on, and set the code, then you should be fine.

You don't have to remove the HU. Just reach behind it from above the glove box and the plug goes in at the top corner of the HU. You have to cram your hand in there but it works.

I will try that but there doesn't seem to be much room. what is the secret to get the head unit to pull out?

Take the glove box off and you will be able to reach it ... also a good method if you have smaller arms / hands is to remove the cup holder area (just a quick pull and it comes out) then snake your hand up and behind the unit. you can also remove the center console to reach in from the drives side. There are complete instructions on how to do all that in the how-to section.

use the keys that came in a plastic bag in the glove compartment. If you don't have those, use two butter knives.

I would be willing to have the canada people have their sirius tuners shipped to me. The only thing is my address, I can also have them shipped to my friends houses. Just let me know and I will give you my address, then ship them to you guys.
