Did Mazda eliminate ability to play music from thumb drives in the 2025 CX-5?

USB-C is still a data connector as well as power. What issues are you having?
At first I thought they eliminated it since my existing thumb drive wouldn't fit in the slot. The sales guy said he talked to his manager and they said that was eliminated in the newer models. Then I did a little more research and it turns out that the connector in the 2025 is for USB-C. Mine was probably a USB-A, older version. Checked the infotainment screen and it was showing USB1 and USB2 so I figured it still has that functionality.

I guess in order to get it to work need a USB-A to USB-C adapter.

Adapter should work, or just pick up a 32gb usb-c thumb drive for just a few bucks more than an adapter anyway
New thumb drive is plan B. Have 80+ CD's on current drive. Adapter would be better. They're pretty cheap so I'll order one.
