Mazda does sell in China.Mazda does not sell the CX-5 there, that is why they have the China-made CX-6e.

I looked it up and you're right, they have a joint venture plant with Changan making both the CX-5 and the CX-6e.Mazda does sell in China.
Yeah I think some of us hoped Mazda would be the one manufacturer to know better but here we are. C'est la vie indeed.With the buttons - First that is the trend second its a cost savings and operational time to build because they cut in buttons and wires and everything is controlled by 1 module not 5 with relays and other stuff from 20th century.
Plus everyone is movnt towards DoIP.
I love buttons but they are not coming back. Dont know if everyone realizes it but cars are becoming like smart phones on wheels and that is the future. And yes I know almost nobody wants that but c'est la vie.
They are coming back for Subaru. The new Outback has HVAC controls separate from the screen, instead of integrated into the screen like their other models. Hopefully Mazda and other automakers will eventually reverse course as well.I love buttons but they are not coming back.

IMO the CX-6e is a better-looking car than the 3rd Gen CX-5.
I really like the exterior look.
The interior ... um, not so much.

Yeah, there was a video floating around about some fool trapped in a Tesla because he couldn't figure out how to trigger the manual door release when the battery died.What is it with manufacturers looking to mess with something that just works and doesn't need to be fixed? I'm talking about all these cars with flush door handles or some sort push button door release. I'm waiting for more instances where people can't be extricated from a car because the exterior door handles don't work or the occupant can't figure out where the manual bypass is. I think more of these happening would result in a nice class action lawsuit. The Feds should be stepping in to require mechanical door releases.
Kia already did that with the Telluride (skipped 26 and called it a 27). It will be at dealers around the same time as the CX-5. Makes no sense to me considering we just started 2026.if Mazda waits too much longer they can just introduce it as a 27 model and skip the 26 model year all together....

Yep my 2014 has a build date of Jan 2013. I bought it in April 2013. It was basically a mid-year refresh of the 2013 that introduced the 2.5L as the 2013s only had the 2.0L.Interestingly, Mazda has done that in the past. We got our 2014 CX-5 in May of 2013.
Did you mean 2027 ?It’s probably so they can introduce the 2028 CX-5 Hybrid and start selling it in January 2017.![]()
