HomeStink, er Homlink Issues

Just bought a CX-5. Having a problem with a newish Liftmaster 85704-267 opener that won't connect with the Homelink in the car. I have a second, older, Liftmaster 8550W and the Homelink synced with that one just fine.

My 2021 Kia Homelink works on that opener just fine.

Called Liftmaster, they referred me to Homelink. Called Homelink, went through their automated setup (which is just the same as what the Owner's Manual says to do). It didn't work so I selected to talk to a support representative. After 5 minutes they hung up on me. Tried it a second time being forced through the 10 minutes of automated setup help, selected tech support, 5 minutes later it hung up again.

Well, I called my local garage door company to come over next week but it would be preferable not to have to pay them big bucks just to tell me they can't solve it.

What do you think? Thanks in advance!

I had a similar issue with my Genie garage opener. The guy that helped me figure it out was from of all places MyQ which is a subsidiary of Chamberlain/Liftmaster. I was trying to add another remote to the Genie opener and it wouldn't work no matter how many times I tried. I knew I was doing it correctly. The support guy told me to clear all the stored remotes to the Genie opener. Bingo. Fixed the issue. I had old garage remotes/ex wife's car paired to the opener and didn't realize I had run out of stored space.

Worth giving a try. But it'll be a pain having to re-pair everything that was working again.

I just did that today, erased the memory of the opener and tried to add Homestink. It didn't work but all the others did.,

Try moving the car and try again. Mine is sensitive to where it's sitting, probably radio dead spots.

I once had a problem syncing the remote to the opener because I was trying to do it with the car sitting under neath it in the garage. Once I moved it out of the garage, it worked fine. Just a thought.

Thank you for the replies, still a no-go. I've done everything in the Owners Manual, the Liftmaster manual, I've called Homelink and been through their automated system (twice), I've done it in the garage, just outside the garage, and and the end of the driveway. I called the garage door company that installed it but they didn't have any more ideas. I'm stumped.
