2017~2025 What do you all think of this 2019 CX-5 signature ?

Hey everyone, I’m planning on buying the CX-5 turbo model. Currently looking at a 2019 CX-5 signature 40k miles for $24950 and a 2021 CX-5 gtr 49k miles for $25500. I’m a bit uncertain on which one to go for. Particularly worried about the cylinder head issues on the turbo. Let me know what you think of these deals and would love any advice.

Tbh you should be more worried about the cylinder head issues on the non-turbo as they seem to be more common, going by the discussions on the forum (I don't have service data).

Personally I'd lean toward the 2021 if it got the updated infotainment but ask for records of the valve stem seal replacement being done.

I checked the settlement but 21’s vin is excluded from it. So I’m guessing it’s not affected.

The 21s had a short run of cars that were built with defective valve stem seals that caused oil consumption. The valve stem seal settlement for the issue includes the following affected VINs for the CX-5:

US/Canada spec w/ 10.25" infotainment: VINS from JM3KF******320280 – 472324 (produced from October 6, 2020 to September 13, 2021)
Canada/Mexico spec w/ 8" infotainment: VINS from JM3KF******112005 – 135036 (produced from October 6, 2020 to September 1, 2021)

If the 2021 you're looking at has a VIN that doesn't fall within these ranges, then yeah, it's excluded. And if you're worried about the coolant leak, then definitely get the 2021.
