Best Tires for 2021 CX-5 Turbo?

7" is the minimum recommended wheel width (bead to bead) for 245/50/19 and that is the reason I wouldn't do it. Handling will feel sloppy compared to one which is right in the middle of the range or toward the upper end of the range. It will also look pretty beefy since there is more tire than wheel.
You won't get the contact patch of a 245 width tire when mounted on a 7" wheel anyways.
I would not go to 245 tires unless I did a wheel upgrade to 8.5" width.
Right.
For the 245/45/20 DWS06 Plus, the range is 7.5-9.0". Since handling is improved by having a tire that is well-supported by the width of the wheel, staying at the upper end is ideal.
Yep, 8 or even 8.5/9" I'd say.

got hammered in eastern Montana...and again in western Montana...

I've used the Conti DWS 06 previously and they were/are good tires. However, when I recently needed tires for our CX9, I went with the fairly new Pirelli Scorpion AS + 3s based on reviews and price. Have a little over 5k on them and no regrets. Getting good wear, quiet, good handling. You don't need the Cross Climates unless you have to deal with snow. Based on combo of price and performance, the Pirellis are tough to beat. Read the reviews.
I have the Pirelli's on my '16 CX-5!

Only have a little over 2,000m on them, but no complaints so far. Comfortable. Haven't been in deep snow, but I don't expect much in that condition. Just make sure they were mounted correctly. They are ASYMMETRICAL, and have an inside/outside orientation. When mine were installed, 3 of them were incorrect and had to be corrected!

Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 and Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus are at the top of my personal list. It really comes down to what you want your tires to do - Tire Rack’s site will let you prioritize different aspects of customers’ ratings to help you find what best fits your needs.
The Pirelli Weatheractive is even slightly better in terms of handling and comfort, I've put them on a 2024 CX-5 Turbo Carbon, and a 2017 CRV Touring

Eh… the lack of longitudinal grooves on the WeatherActive is going to hurt hydroplaning resistance, and the tread compounds on 3PMSF tires pretty much universally sacrifice wet grip. If you live in an area where they make sense for you, then absolutely - get the WeatherActives. I’m in an area where winters are generally more wet than snowy, so a tire that maximizes wet performance wins for me.

The best All Season tires I have ever owned on any vehicle are the Conti CrossContact series. Best handling, best wear, best road quiet, and best ride quality.

Do they wear faster than Pirelli's ?
Since you phrased your question as comparing to the entire Pirelli brand...

The only blanket statement you can really make between tire brands is that some companies are conservative with their UTQG treadwear ratings, while others will be pretty optimistic in estimating how long their tires will last. I've never owned Pirellis, but I've never read anything to indicate that they're unlikely to meet expectations for whatever UTQG rating is applied to a particular tire. I've owned several Continental/General models over the years, and I can say from my own experience that they might be slightly reaching with their treadwear numbers, but it's nothing that I'd call unreasonable.

Oh - and don't include OE tires in that analysis. The treadwear rating on the sidewall may or may not reflect the actual value of a tire that's designed to OE specs as opposed to replacement specs.

I'm considering Falken Wildpeak AT Trail tires for my '21 Carbon Turbo. Anyone have any experience with these?
Those are pretty popular over on the RAV4 forum that I frequent. Great if you need three peak rating and you do some off-roading. I think they might be slightly louder and you could take a slight hit to your gas mileage, only cons I can think of.

They would definitely be on my short list if I were in the market for light-duty AT tires. The only downside is that they’re on the heavy end of the range for their size. It’s probably a big contributor to the complaints about a rough ride.

Hi Everyone,

Do you guys have any tire recommendations for Pacific North West area, we have lot of rain.

Any tire recommendations is greatly appreciated
Try these. I have them and they are great in the rain. I previously had Hankook Kinergy and they were terrible in the rain.

Less noise, the 3 peaks stop better in wet

If I'm not mistaken they show the lowest stopping distance in wet of anything including the other Pirelli that's not 3 peaks rated
