Changing the oil in the CX-5 is VERY easy. You (I) don't need much room underneath so for me I don't even mess around with putting the car on ramps. I used a couple of left over pieces of 2"x8" and drove the front wheels up onto the pieces of wood. The small amount of lift gave me enough room to do what needed to be done without any difficulties.

Easy peasy.

The temps are dropping and pressure increasing I put the SRI back on. Now it can provide performance and with the 93 tune torque is up big time.. throttle blips are amazing rn too. And a well timed wot shift gives a mean 2 step tah tah. Very enjoyable.
 
Last Saturday brought CX-5 to dealership for 25k miles service. Not sure what that service advisor was thinking, but he was trying to get me to do the 30k miles maintenance package, the cheapest of which was over $400 LOL. I just flat out told him no, asked him to do just an oil change and tire rotation. I miss my old service advisor; sadly he moved to Austin. Anyway, total was $84.99. It would be interesting to see if in the future, the cost for a oil change/tire rotation would increase with Mazda's move to being a more "premium" brand. If the cost would go above $90, Mazda would definitely hear from me LOL.

Also asked them to look at my headlights that had some staining or residue on them. They took a photo of the headlights and said they will ask Mazda about it. Most likely, they will replace it under warranty, which is what I'm hoping will happen.

That's what I'm talking about. The skyactiv engine is one of those engines that def sounds nice with aftermarket mods.

I'm tempted to get the AEM SRI/CAI for the extra growl, but I'm really trying to hold off until the bumper to bumper warranty runs out, which is going to be in 7-8 months.

Yeah, local Infiniti dealer charges $129/hr for labor, and a full synthetic change is $89.95 (not sure what they use in their cheaper oil change service that only costs $53.99, and whether they would even perform it on my QX.) I don't recall what my Mazda dealer charged for labor... I think it was around $65. Having said that, the new Hyundai dealer just reopened after a building refresh... and labor is $99/hr! I don't know what it was before all the building work was done, but $99 for Hyundai sounds pretty stiff to me.

ebay. No drilling needed. The brake and gas pedal slip on with zero fitment issues. You just need to take off the existing brake cover first. The dead pedal has 3M double-sided tape. I've read other owners replaced the tape with velcro, which makes sense, but I've had no issues with it coming off.

Looks great! That Soul Red Crystal sure is interesting when seen in the right lighting.
 
Took it to the dealer for the 1st oil change and tire rotations @ 4,800 miles.
No charge for the 1st change and the rotation was also no charge as a courtesy because they took other car by mistake before mine and I had to wait an extra hour.
Nice note from the dealer.
 
Changed the oil and rotated the tires, just a tad over 10k miles.
 
Popped my towing cherry and picked up my trans from the repair shop

no but next time I'm over there ill take one.. don't let the size of those inlets fool you.. the actual ports on the transmission are like 1-1.5mm diameter.. like half the diameter of the bolt holes on the oil cooler itself. there are two bolt plugs on the top of the case that are unused and I think one on the side.. ill take more pics next time
 
And that's cool. I always liked to cheat the system, so maybe there is a way of natural flow full ATF replacement, after all. I can't recall how hard is it to take the cooler out with tranny still in the car...
 
Put my winter tires on for the winter season. Temps are dropping to within 0 or below overnight and in the mornings on the regular now, and days are usually below 10, so it's time for cold weather tires. Had frost on the machine this morning, so I put them on none to late or early it would seem. :)

Took about an hour with all manual hand tools and the jack that came with the car in my driveway. One observation I will make here on the new tires; I did't notice how quiet the OEM Yokohama 3-season tires were until I put on the Goodyear Nordic Winters. These motherf***ers are loud, and they aren't even studded! They grip excellently though on the dry pavement in the cold, its a noticeable difference. Can't wait to see how the CX-5 performs in the snow vs. how my Genesis was.
