Don't forget the range is current average so a period of light footed driving will artificially raise the figure. I could get mine to show that figure but it would not realistically achieve it.
that range...(2thumbs)
The truth about what the pre 2017 car can return.
https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/mazda/cx-5-2012
I'm showing around 38.5 mpg at present which allowing for the over read of 2.5mpg is around 36 mpg.
A 3L Audi Q5 is close to that from what I've read.

Sometimes, bigger engines do better because they are less worked than smaller engines. This was the case between my old CX-3 with a 1.5 engine and subsequent CX-5s. This Q5 data doesn't really demonstrate much.
Here is my data taken from the Fuelly site.
31 13/08/17 635.00 49.528 7.80 1.219 Range: 752 klms
30 1/08/17 640.00 49.839 7.79 1.225 Range: 726 klms
29 21/07/17 562.00 47.511 8.45 1.225 Range: 706 klms
28 24/06/17 688.99 49.680 7.21 1.265 Range: 805 klms
27 31/05/17 578.00 49.740 8.61 1.269 Range: 774 klms
26 24/04/17 622.00 48.381 7.78 1.287 Range: 791klms
25 5/04/17 603.01 46.871 7.77 1.287 Range: 811 klms
24 20/03/17 612.00 49.570 8.10 1.289 Range: 759 klms
The pre 2017 model regenerates on a much more frequent and longer basis than the new one. Mine is settling down into better mpg already.
Manual or automatic?
Automatic.
The 7. & 8. are the litres per 100km figures.
The 29.9mpg is the average of all the entries and then converted to US mpg. After playing around with the Fuelly site, it appears my average UK mpg is around 35.
Congratulations [emoji106]Got mine today.![]()

So, in US gallons, we can expect 30 US MPG from the diesel? That's not terribly inspiring.
