Dang, the escape is hideous. Gotta say the CRV won that comparison.

But it's faster. You can overlook that outside, which is really all subjective anyway.

The CVT is a killer for me in the CRV. If this CX-5 doesn't treat us well, I have no idea what will come next because all the others in the class have been eliminated also. 4 door car I suppose, because definitely see no use for anything bigger...

Precisely why I'm probably moving up market. Nothing other than the first gen CX5 is appealing enough to drop a big chunk of change on.

You can get a similar optioned Audi Q5 for around $50K that would be very nice.

Well, I take that back, I'd take an old air cooled VW to play with and run circles around the new ones with it.

You're a huge flop IMO and how much you wanna bet on a Mazda CVT not happening?

From Mazda's brochure:

"The 6-speed automatic transmission combines the best attributes of conventional automatic, continuously variable and dual clutch transmissions while a new gear shift control predicts operating intentions"

Proof enough that at this time, conventional auto transmission is the way they are going

I'd prefer to stick with a NA engine for now. Thinking QX70. Then I'll get that sick ARK catback exhaust.

I passed on a 2009 FX50 with 50k miles last week. Only $26k and was mint. 390 HP and zero to 60 in 4.9 seconds.

Same with us and the Quadrifoglio. Is it doable, probably, but the lady is right, "don't you want some extra land and a hunting camp by the lake?!!". Not to mention, a 1 year old, and would love to retire right when the nest goes empty too.
