Having a conversation about LED headlights on another forum. A guy says he's got LED hi's and low's in his 2016 6. I didnt think LED's had ever gotten DOT approval. I cant find anything online about OEM LED headlights. So...are the new mazda's running LED or traditional HID's for headlights?

I believe the 6 GT has led headlights, as do many other cars these days (to wit, Audi, Ford, BMW, Mercedes).

Acura and Audi are the only manufacturers I know with true LED headlights. Pretty much every manufacturer has LED DRLs though. I think the 2016+ has the option for the new LED adaptive headlights, which are pretty damn cool.

It's more common than you think, and becoming more common all the time.

Gerry and above is right, the 2016 Mazda 6 GT has LED headlights. Supposedly an issue with them is they don't put out enough heat to melt ice and snow though!

Just picked up my 2016 6 gt with tech package and it has led headlights...very bright. I feel like I'm blinding people as I drive

That sucks, since I have had several issues these year with halogens icing up on the highway.
