What did you pay for your CX-5?

First time Mazda owner, and enjoying our new car! We bought our CX-5 on December 29 at Oak Tree Mazda (San Jose, CA). Near end of month and end of year, the dealers were offering their best offers almost out the gate. I did my initial negotiating via email with about 4 serious offers, and only went in to the dealer for the purchase. The entire process from when I sent my first email to driving home with our new car took 4 days!

Our car: 2016 CX-5 GT AWD with Tech and I-Active packages. Titanium Flash with Black interior. During the email negotiations got the dealer to throw in the all-weather floor mats.

MSRP: $33,430
Negotiated Price: $30,798 (Another dealer was willing to beat that by $500, but they did not have the color combination we were set on)
Discount: $2,632

Sales Tax: $2,701.83
Doc Fee: $80
Other Fees: $348.70

Price OTD: $33,928.53

Trade-in: $6,000 (2008 BMW 328i Coupe with 110,000 miles......but there was some serious issue with the transmission, so we were more than happy to give it up for $6K when KBB gave a price of about $7K for a good condition car)

We could have got another $500 off by going with the standard financing option, but as we decided not to pay it off in one go, we went with their 0% for 36 months promotional offer (which we qualified for).

We could have haggled harder and threatened to walk, but we were happy with the offer, and more importantly, we knew the condition of our BMW was not good at all, so we didn't want to drive it back home.

Can anyone r commend the best price and dealership in Houston Texas. I'm looking for a cx5 gt with tech package fwd for 27,500 or 29,500 OTD. Am I asking too much to them? They told me I cannot find any dealership with that price.

Hi All, I'm looking for a 2016 cx-5 touring with remote start rear parking sensors and dealer installed aftermarket heated seats. I have a quote for $27,130 before tax, registration, and doc fee. MSRP from the mazda website for a similar without aftermarket heated seats is $28,370. Is this a good deal? (we have just started asking for quotes)

Is it an AWD? Any other accessories or packages? Doesn't seem too bad. Most dealers are really willing to negotiate on 2016s right now since the 2016.5's are coming out this month. I'm sure you can trim it down a bit.

New to the forum and hopefully purchasing our CX-5 this afternoon. We are going with the Grand Touring AWD model with the technology package. Looks like MSRP is right around $31,855 and invoice is $30,850. Haven't purchased a new car in a while so I am trying to use the truecar app. It is estimating dealer invoice is a good price to pay in my area. Does that seem right? Anyone purchase a similar car in the Chicago area and get a significantly better deal? thanks.

What do u think of $28000 including all incentives for 2016 CX-5 Touring with moon roof & tech packages @ 0.9 for 60 months? Good or can do better? Or wait for 2016.5? Thanks!

Just an update. Did some internet quoting from dealers today. After getting 4 different quotes looks like the best offer is just about $900 below invoice so around $29,900. From what I have been reading in this thread that seems pretty reasonable. Agreed?

It's a good price right of the bat. You probably can get it down to $29-29500 if you wanna haggle some...good luck!

Thanks. I looked at the thread with the best prices and it looked like it is listing just slightly over $30,000 for a Grand Touring with AWD and the technology package so I figured this was worth pulling the trigger without anymore haggling. Will take a look at that thread again.

Cool deal. FYI, $29900 was the best price I actually got from several dealers just by asking for their "best price". The next several hundred are tough. Lol. Good luck and enjoy your new ride....

Just wanted to post my recent purchase because I appreciated others doing the same:
2016 touring + tech+sunroof+roof rack + cargo cover+red
MSRP:29625
Discount 2750 (finance, competitive car at home?, manufacture)
Final : 26900 +TTL
It seemed there was ~1000 extra incentive for touring over gt

Central Texas

i got my red GT + AWD + Tech Package for $29,400. give it a shot at lowering the price a bit more. it never hurts to try :)

i guess i should mention that i got an extra $500 off by agreeing to their chase financing. after the first payment, i switched to my bank at 0.9% :)

Is this the OTD price? Can you post the breakdown @vkkhang

Sorry for not being clear. No the $29,400 was before taxes and fees (I figure since those fees vary by your state I wouldn't add it here). In Irvine, CA everything came out to $31.4k. I don't remember the exact breakdown.

Got quotes from multiple dealers. Tried to get them to compete with one another but failed, maybe it's due to the timing of the purchase as it's not the end of the month or Mazda Internet Sales departments around here aren't as aggressive??? Other makes were more active in following up on my car buying status. Anyway, when I provided the lowest quote to other Mazda dealerships, they said either they can't beat it or that maybe the quote was for the 2016 model and not the 2016.5.

2016.5 Touring FWD Meteor Gray
MSRP: 26,115
Final: 23,550 +TTL
This is going through Chase financing, plan to refinance later.

Just drove home with my 2nd ever vehicle yesterday. Traded in my 2010 Gunmetal Blue Mazda3 iTouring w/Bluetooth.

2016 Touring AWD Blue Reflex
After incentives and loyalty cash, the selling price was $25,300.
I got $7,500 for my Mazda3, and got them to throw in free all-weather mats.

My final financing amount was $19,284.15, with 2.9% for 60 months.

Only a small amount more than I paid for my Mazda3 in 2010.

Absolutely adore this car!

2016.5 Grand Touring FWD Deep Crystal Blue Mica
MSRP: $29,470.00
Selling price: $27,000.00 ($900 dest. fee included) + $80 processing fee + taxes + DMV fees.

Bay Area, California
