Will not crank

Hi all,

Been trying to fix my friends msp that doesn't even try to crank. Was completely random, right after a fill up, it never cranked again.

What I tried:

- checked battery connection, solid and clean
- all fuses good
- cleaned that infamous spade connector going to the starter really well
- shorted the starter bolts and the starter spun well.

Something else that I want to mention is that the alarm was originally acting up and the key fob wasn't working. I disconnected the factory alarm and everything was back to normal, but still no crank.

What do you guys think?

Could be the alarm, is it completely removed from the car? Could also be the MAF, CKP or CMP.

I think he is just trying to help.

Well bump starting the car works fine. I know it won't start without those sensors, but it doesn't even crank.

Which makes me think it's alarm related if it isn't a weak battery/starter connection. Or a bad starter solenoid, ignition switch or relay. Sometimes my ignition switch will 'delay' for a second before the starter cranks over.

Well after multiple attempts we have determined the issue, and let me tell you this is quite annoying...

We got to the point of testing resistances in wires and going into the fuse box harness, which is where we found that power was missing from one of the circuits.

Turns out there are 2 switches on the clutch pedal!

It was the one on the fire wall, hopefully this helps someone.

That guy s a flaming theadjacker.

You obviously have no idea what threadjacker means, but based on the level of intelligence you showed in the PM's you sent me, I'm not surprised...

Anyways OP glad you got it all figured out!
