Cargo Liner for 2016 CX-5 Touring

The Mazda soft cargo liner is durable enough for luggage, potted plants, tools, dogs, or most any other cargo. And it is water proof as well. It is a sensational product which protects both the horizontal and vertical sections of the cargo area.
In my opinion the only need for the hard rubber heavy weight liner is when carrying snow or ice covered item, because it has raised edges that could contain the subsequent water. A couple of negatives to the hard liner is the extra weight as well as the capacity reduction of the two corner pockets. When the hard liner is installed it reduces those two pockets size by about 15%.
To answer your question, the hard rubber liner will fit on top of the soft liner, no problem.
I have both of these Mazda CX-5 liners, but will only use the hard version for snow.

Thanks so much for the reply and info, I guess I've always been
extra protective of things, always had trucks so even had a bedliner
with a tarp over it. I know, I know, but just can't help it !!!!

Another benefit of the soft cargo liner is that when the rear seats are down (either one, two, or all three sections) there is full protection. I suggest you buy the soft liner and install it. If for some reason you want additional protection then buy the hard rubber liner. But if you don't expect to be carrying snow or ice covered cargo, I expect the soft liner will meet all your needs. For cleaning away mud, dirt etc...it can be hosed with water. And, or, spray on your favorite vinyl/rubber car interior cleaner-protect product. I use the Meguiars Mirror Glaze #40 for the CX-5 dashboard, vinyl door trim, seat backs, arm rest, and the soft cargo liner.
On another subject, if you do not already have one, I suggest buying a windshield sun shade. Covercraft makes a CX5 specific model, which is for sale either plain or with the Mazda logo (made by Covercraft).

Thanks so much for the additional info, I'll take your advice and try the softcover first as I'd wanted
that to cover the back of the seats. I'm not planning on hauling alot of stuff anymore, those days
hopefully are over<G> we'll see. But I may be hauling plants and mulch, and Dog Food !!!

Also, thinks for the heads up on the Sunscreen Cover, definetly need one of those in Texas!!!

This way, when you return the seat backs to upright, the liner is laying down with a good snug fit.

1. Do you know if this is the correct part number and is the Cargo Liner still available in the US?
2. If I can not get the Liner I was thinking that I would get the Cargo Mat. My question is whether the surface of the Cargo Mat has a carpet texture or is it some sort of rubber/plastic/vinyl.

1. That's the right part number for the Soft Cargo Liner and it is available in the U.S.
The Cargo Tray is part # 0000-8D-R01 and is also available.

2. The Cargo Tray is rubberized like all-season floor mats. I actually just got one on Ebay from MedCenter Mazda. You may want to check them out to see if they can ship to Canada. Their prices and customer service is great.

I think bbob01 was referencing part #0000-8B-R11 (Cargo Mat) and Glock32 and DG_1234 were referencing the part #0000-8D-R01 (Cargo Tray).
From the pictures linked on Amazon.ca it seems like indeed the Cargo Tray looks like rubberized plastic but the Cargo Mat is carpet. The Cargo Mat does not seem to cover the bottom side pockets as well.

Go to MedCenterMazda, their ad is on top of this page. I ordered front and back mats and the cargo area. One of the mats was very slightly damaged, gave them a call and had a new one in 3 days. They are priced right and have wonderful service.

Took the rubber OEM liner out of my 2013 and put it into my 2016-- same exact size--prefect fit.
