What did you just buy?

No complains about the Mini 0805, but there is a 0806 out, which it suppose to be better as well.
I have a picture with it(and radar detector), on what did you do today to your cx5.

Only thing that's keeping me back from the Mini 0806 was that it had issues with the first batch or two according to users and a seller or two on DCT Forum. And the price is a bit out of my budget.

Great devices there! Loved my Moto X and the 360 is a fantastic device.

Thanks. I usually have ample time to research phones before I buy but I needed something fast so this seemed like the best overall solution for me. Digging the watch too. I wear this during the day

so the phone rarely leaves my pocket anymore. I can send and receive calls and texts, read email, and listen to music all without ever touching the phone. Pretty slick.

Any CX-5 owners have any good dash cam recommendations? Bought the A118-C but turned out to be pretty bad...

What didn't you like about the A118C? I have it and think it is great. Yes, the night portion of it leaves some to be desired, but daytime footage is great. Also very discreet, and i got it while on sale for $65 dollars....can't beat that!

Here's my thread on DCT...

Guess my was one of the bad units, but the update firmware did fix some of the issues, though sometime it's still out of focus. I don't think it's overheating anymore, but pretty unsatisfied still.

Thinking about getting an extension USB cable..
https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned)

To route the roof liner and route the wire to my TomTom USB adapter.

oh wow that was you! I am not a member of dashcamtalk but I do read it, and I read your thread previously. Sounds like you got a defective unit. Mine is very clear/sharp during daylight conditions, not blurry at all...the night is not so bad for me because there is a ton of street lights here in the city, so it is never really dark out.

I bought the original A118 non-capacitor version from spytec in December, but it was defective. Sent it back and decided to wait for the capacitor version to come out. Bought it from gearbest and have not had any issue luckily.

I used this to hardwire it in, very simple; http://thedashcamstore.com/dashcam-installation-kit-5-volt-usb-plug-low-profile-mini-fuse/

and used these directions to route it and the same fuse slot to make it all work: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123829094-Hardwiring-a-Valentine-1

just an FYI, the wiring harness only comes with 1 fuse...you need to install another fuse into the empty slot to make it power on.

I did think about hardwiring it in... But then I don't know if I would keep this dash cam or buy another dash cam that uses mini USB.

I'm mainly thinking about running USB extension cable that I can tug under the roof and around the pillar, so I don't have to take off the A pillar, and then under passenger side dash and to the power socket (TomTom High Speed Multi Charger). That way if I switch cameras, I could always just plug in a different USB cable and not have to deal with rewiring again.

As of right now, the A118-C from gearbest, I got half my money back and it's still somewhat usable so I will be using it for a while until I find something else that interest me. Really want a dash cam that have a Sony Exmor sensor, since it seems like those camera have good performance (e.g. LS460W, SG9665GC, Panorama S (2015), etc.)

The closest thing at a reasonable price point right now is the Xiaomi Sports/Action Camera [clickable link, if you want to see the camera], but no accessories and the color option isn't good. And also, there isn't a dash cam feature included on that camera for now at least... Waiting to see updates as it is updated frequently from Xiaomi. If there's an update that enables dash cam feature, I think I might buy one, though still not digging the White or Green color option.

That is how I ran the wire to the fuse panel. I did not take the A-pillar off, simply ran the wire from the headliner through the top of the A pillar then down its side closest to the door, then hid it behind the weather stripping all the way down to the fuses. That thread is helpful though to show which fuse is hot at start up in order to get the dash cam to turn on when the car starts.

Well best of luck in your search for a dashcam, there are a lot of options out there.

Picked up a gently used Mirage ES fully loaded and MANUAL (rare for the es)for $13,720; 10,000 mi. I will be modding it and it will match the cx-5. First thing I'm doing is getting the supercharger before anything else (well aside from the ultra racing rear sway bar, the car doesn't come with one). Let me know if you have any ideas on modding.

Been thinking about the Xiaomi Action/Sports Cam, but no accessories yet and the firmware don't support it as being a dashcam for now at least...

Recently bought... Chemical Guys Blacklight and Hybrid V7

Mini 0803/0805/0806

I have 0803 from ojocam. Works fine for a year. Very good price too. GPS/Video/Audio.

Nice!!! I am a long term Garmin user. It is nice to be able to switch over to the off-road TOPO maps if you desire. You have to load them but still a nice option.

heh road maps won't be of too much help where I am operating, on or off.

Wow... the Xiaomi Yi Sports/Action Camera dropped to $78.99... Pretty good price for the quality of video and photo people are getting. So tempted to get one since the firmware upgrades are slowly getting there so it can be used as a dashcam. Right now, it's only missing auto start/turn on and off when power is received/disconnected. It has rotation, loop, etc.

Anyways... I recently bought:
Retina MacBook Pro 13
Honda Insight cabin air filter
3x Mazda Oil Change Kit from Med Mazda

In re: the action camera... are you looking to get it as a dash cam? Or something else?
