What did you just buy?

In re: the action camera... are you looking to get it as a dash cam? Or something else?

Mainly as a dash cam, though it's probably not a good option due to the color(s)...

The Xiaomi is one of the best in terms of quality and performance for it's price.

The Amkov AMK5000S Action Camera seems like a decent option for $75 using coupon code: AMK5000S
Looks like a decent alternative to Xiaomi Action Cam.. still wondering if they can function as a dash cam though...

Anyways... I recently bought a new MacBook Pro Retina :)... Looking forward to buy a camera also.. Though undecided what to get... Looking at the Leica D-LUX (Typ 109) and the Fujifilm X100T...

and these switchbacks. noticed some of the orange led were out on my blinker, mayb from the accident, maybe a loose wire, maybe just crapped out; either way I like these cree type over the ones I currently have.

I ordered that camera + extra battery (code is no good, I think it's only for the camera alone) for $88 shipped. Up from 80 when I upgraded from flat rate to standard shipping and added insurance/tracking. seems good, and I need something with good battery and high res for my flights. thanks for that link, I'll let you know how it performs.

Sounds awesome. I'm really close to ordering the Xiaomi Action Cam.. Once Gearbest pricematch Banggood or some other sites...

Order from Amazon arrived. 222 count Pampers for the Baby.

and new AEM Dry flo filter for the Mazda6. The CX-5 had used one for past year and already paid for itself upon recent cleaning.

on a tuned engine (mine, adjusted for the panel filter) I was able to see a jbr panel filter of same design flow about 5g/s of airflow over stock. that could be rougly equal to 5hp.

that one looked cheesy to me; the other one can use go pro accessories a big +. I'll record my suspension swap with it when I get around to it to test quality/battery life for you.

Not really interested in waterproof case, etc., mainly looking to use it as a dash cam or random camera... Just need a black silicone case or something so it's not too obvious when mounted on the car.. also need to look for a mount solution.

Got my Amkv AMK5000 from GearBest - Best Gadgets & Electronics Deals today. I paid < $90 shipped + including a $3.50 spare battery. It has the same form factor as GoPro so I can use some accessories from that if I want. I will tape something with it and post later. It came with a good amount of accessoried out of the box, and there is some app you can use to wirelessly interface with an iOS/Android phone.

There's no tripod mount socket for a smaller mount to be used as a dash cam huh? Seems like all the mount rely on the waterproof case...

I already received the Xiaomi Sports Camera from Gearbest yesterday (pretty fast shipping for once...), still looking for mounts and waiting for firmware updates to make it more of a dashcam... Right now, it requires manual power up and down and press button to record..

Post what you bought and a review if you want. Doesn't have to be a car part.

Last car part: My Mazda CX-5 2.5L AWD 2015 Touring. I love it so far! Nothing at all bad to say, and very happy I got rid of my Jeep!

Last firearm part: Surefire M300C weapon light. Very bright, GREAT! contrast, awesome throw. It's going on my 14.5" carbine and I think it's a helluva light!

Last computer part: My complete PC, back in 2011-ish. I can still run WoW with most of the settings set to Ultra, and the frame-rate in Orgrimmar hovers around 30. Not shabby!

Last supplement: Pyroxamine. I have dropped around 12-15# (depends on the time of day I weigh) in the last 40 days, and all my lifts are fine. I am still repping out with 315 on deadlifts, and benching 100# dumbells on the flat-bench for 6-8 reps as my last set. Body weight went from 205 w/no clothes to around 190 with no clothes.

Last random item: Energizer L91 Lithium AA batteries. They power my XBOX1 controller several times longer than do regular batteries, and Lithiums don't leak very often at all (if ever).

Next time you go to replace, get some rechargeable from ebay (like 24 for < $15 for example), it's worth it. If you go on ebay, you can buy rechargeable lithium AA batteries that you can't find in most stores. I have not tried them yet myself. Something like these 1200mah would be enough for a controller http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-x-3-7V-12...883?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c3ac55bb3, the high mah ones go up in price quickly.

There is a OEM rechargeable pack for the controller. The friend who bought me the XBOX 1 heartily recommends it, but out of stubbornness I have refused to buy it, making fun of him every time he has to scoot the sofa closer to his TV so the cord will reach, while he makes fun of me when I am caught without batteries and have to run to the store. The batteries typically last 2-3 months or so, of fairly typical gameplay of a few hours a night on my nights off.

Chris,

Do you know how this compares to a GoPro? I've been wanting a GoPro for my bike for a long time but can't bring myself to pay that kind of $. This is much more around my price point.
