Mazda CX-5 2015 FWD GT
I was thinking what are the features from other cars which could have benefited my CX-5's utility for my family. I am sure others also have the same list. Is there a way to pass this to Mazda folks :)

1) Powered tailgate like Escape, Forester and Jeep Cherokee
2) Reclining and sliding back seat like Jeep Cherokee
3) Trunk storage management like Jeep Cherokee, Nissan Rogue
4) Surround view like Nissan Rogue. I seriously feel that front and side bumper view/proximity sensor could have helped a lot.
5) Paddle shifters and heads-up display like mazda3
6) (Probably the most important) An option to have 17"/18" on GT model with higher side wall tires
7) Rear passenger AC vents
8) Driver seat memory and adjustment in the passenger seat
9) Flatter center back seat -- booster seat is always skewed to 1 side when used in center

(2016 probably solve these)
10) Adjustable center arm rest like many other cars
11) Slightly bigger tough screen which is a new trend
12) Rear cross traffic alert like mazda3

I would like to see seat memory. I don't think '16 has that as well. That is nice when switching vehicles with another dive.... I always forget when I jump in CX-5 from Infiniti as the latter adjusts seat, mirror and entire steering wheel column based on my fob when I enter car. Vehicle are different price points though.

I think the 2016 comes with rear cross traffic alert already.

I voted for power tailgate, handy when your hands are tied...

I don't really care about the powered liftgate, I hate the one in our Odyssey (have to wait on it - faster to open manually).
I would like the manual transmission offered with a higher trim level (better audio, premium cloth, foglights). I don't really care about the anti-collision/cross-traffic gadgets).

if theyre not going to give us the manual transmission at least give us the paddle shifters. germany is getting em and they are options on the mazda6 and mazda 3

Don't really care for a powered liftgate but sure would like to open the rear hatch while inside the vehicle. I've owned my '15 CX-5 for only 7 months but have these on my wish list:
  1. Lighted power window/lock buttons on drivers door. Currently on the driver's window has a light.
  2. Better (stronger) seat heaters.
  3. Better cabin heat - takes forever for mine to warm up on frigid mornings.
  4. Compass imbedded in the rear view mirror for the Grand Touring trims.
  5. Digital clock mounted higher - current clock is difficult to locate.
  6. Dual tone horns.
  7. Ability to charge a cell phone with the built-in USB ports.
  8. Larger, more usable display screen on the Tom-Tom (fixed on the 2016)?
  9. Rear cross vehicle approach warning (included on the 2016)?

Wow. The only thing on that list that would benefit me is paddle shifters. I would like the option to delete the sunroof when optioning up though.

I have a 2015 CX-5 and will hold out on trading it in for a new model until I can get a panoramic moon-roof, power lift gate, android auto, auto up/down windows all around, and memory seats. Now that I think about it, I'm holding out until I can afford a BMW X3.

"Lighted power window/lock buttons on drivers door. Currently on the driver's window has a light."

Missed this one initially and this is definitely needed.

How about drop a v8 in an AWD cx-5.. like this V8 mazda 3 lol.

Yes, I think options should be bundled in two/three:
- functional tech features package (various safety features, infotainment ...)
- appearance package (bigger wheels, moonroof, roor rail bars ..)
- seating surfaces

To be able to pick it individually would be awesome to pick what you care.

[*]Ability to charge a cell phone with the built-in USB ports.

Yeah, that is one thing which worked on my Elantra even though it was slow.

I would rather stay with the current manual shift mode (no paddle shifters). I use the manual mode up and down winding roads with hairpin turns. When driving mom's Outback with paddle shifters, it is impossible to shift when needed due to the large gyrations of the steering wheel.

Only thing I would change is less road and wind noise. Everything else is just right.

Would love to make the CX-5 my next car. It's a few years out though since my wife is wanting a new car right now. Since I'd be leaving a manual transmission behind id love to have paddle shifters for a fun factor. Since its be auto my wife would maybe drive it sometimes so I'd like the memory seats.

Three weeks into ownership of a my "16 CX-5 w/tech, and the things I would already like to see on the newer models...
Seat memory
A more intuitive Nav system! (let me move around to wherever I want on the map, Sheesh)
Warmer seat heaters
One touch up/down window all around.
lit up buttons on the doors, and on the rear view mirror (garage door button at least)

I'm able to move around on the map. Rotating the controller knob zooms in/out and shifting left/right and forward/backwards moves around on the map
