I recently purchased a 2015 AWD Touring model and found the Geolander's totally inadequate for winter and mountain driving in Colorado. I'm a big fan of Hankook Dynapro ATM's and exchanged the Yokahama's for new tires in 235/65R17. Absolutely a drastic improvement in ride quality and traction. I just drove through 8" of new snow and the CX-5 did great.
I've had these tires on a Nissan Pathfinder (60,000+ miles), Jeep XJ and Grand Cherokee and have always been impressed with them. The price is reasonable and are available through Discount Tire.
FWIW. YMMV. (hi)
Edit: These may be a little aggressive for some, but I am also commuting 112 miles a day on the interstate and found them to be quieter than the OEM tire, which had a terrible ride and slid too much on snow and dirt roads. Just depends on what kind of driving you do. This was also not a plug for Discount Tire; they just seem to have a good inventory of them.
