What have you done to your MSP today?

I may have found another MSP. :) Sunlight silver. The guy has been trying to sell it for months. He keeps coming down on price. Then when I contact him last night with interest, he reposts it a few hours later and increased the price.... :| That's fine. Keep it another 6 months and keep dropping the price until you end up letting it go for nothing out of desperation.

just a throwout, but ill be looking for a decent set of msp rims next year. if someone in the pacific northwest wants to sell a set, let me know. I might make a trip down to washington state in the summer to an rc race and i could work it out picking a set up. if your parting out and msp and need rollers, i can plan to come on some bad old p5 wheels and trade you/buy racing harts with driveable rubber.
alternately shipping to seawings blaine is much much cheaper and easier than shipping to canada. also kinda interested in mx5 10 spoke if the price is right, or rx8's but would really prefer msp racing harts.
i really miss having my white ones. never saw them for sale, or saw anyone rolling on them. so not sure what happened to them when they went missing =(

cleaned the interior of the msp for the winter so it doesn't mold. though in doing so i noted that my p5 with 310km has seats in much better condition than msp with 133. so i might swap the seats to keep the good set good.

started it and it smoked for like 20 minutes. not sure what ill have to do when its time to put it back on the road. prob change a bunch of seals =(

My racing harts are on the wife's SUV and one of the center caps is missing one of the two screws. Anyone know what the size and pitch is? I went to a hardware store and Home Depot without any luck.

My side skirt extensions :) ...

Even when the wheels are new the threads for the screws don't thread in very nicely, it almost feels like you are cutting new threads into the rim. You may have to use whatever screw is the closest you can find unless mazda sells them. I will see if I have a spare but don't hold your breath.

I have one control arm swapped from the race to the dd. Now for the other one. It was a huge pain in the ass to put the OEM one on the dd, but super easy to put the poly bushing one on the race car and I have no idea why. Now to do the other side.

thanks. appreciate it

they prob m4x1 or 1.25. finding specialized threads can be a serious pita i know. i tried to find local threaded rods.. anything in 3/8-24 or m8-1.25 and nothing lol. mcmaster is your best bet for screws but you will end up with like 50 of them. i dont have rh's anymore so i cant check for you =(
i only GUESS that they are m4 as most of the other fasteners are metric..
nothing to stop you from getting m4 hex cap screws and just drilling new holes in the center of the rim. there are only two that are long enough to fasten to the rim itself. the rest are decorative.

also, not sure what i think of those side skirts lol. you almost wouldnt even notice they were there... i guess not bad..

for curiousity sake.. how different are the es/p5 brakes to the msp? i know the rotors are bigger but would the p5 calipers work on the msp rotors if i sniped the rotor brackets off the msp? i need new brakes on the p5 but budget is tight for the next month. I could obviously just pull the entire caliper/rotor assembly over to the p5, but then i have to bleed stuff heh. guess it wouldn't be terrible to learn how to do it.

Yiou can use it as long as you use the whole brake assembly- bracket, rotor, caliper, pads

Find a Fastenal store near you, if they don't actually have what you need, they can get it. I'd say they'll have it though.

So, this past weekend I saw the "elusive" white "MSP/MP3" that I've seen a few times, but have never really gotten a good look at it. I followed the guy into a parking lot and talked to him...

WOW. He's an idiot.

I said something along the lines of "oh, it's a regular sedan with an MSP/MP3 spoiler on it" and that's when it got bad...

"No, it's a Mazdaspeed. It's all factory. They just didn't get the turbo option."

The MSP wasn't an "option" it was it's own trim level. The MSP is 5-lug and had the antenna integrated into the rear window..

"No, it's a Mazdaspeed, it's got the Mazdaspeed exhaust."

He said a few other dumb things, but I can't remember them because I just wanted to get the **** away from him and his ignorance...

Were you there IN your mazdaspeed lol. That's funny.
