What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Do you really notice the Tanabe front strut bar making any difference to how it handles?

I have put tower bars on several different cars. I have noticed an improvement in turn-in on each one, even the Speed6 which has the towers tied into the firewall so supposedly doesn't see any benefit. This may not be important to some but I like things tight and responsive.

giggity (butt)

Went to 7500 Rpm.. but afraid to go faster than that..

yesterday going about 70 on the motorway I had what I'm guessing was a piece of blown tire (from a dickhead driving in the median with shredded tire) fly into my a pillar (left a mark in the paint), hit me in the side of the head, and fly out the back window. Felt like I got slapped. I wanted to put it in my baby book but I couldn't find it:/ must have flew out the back window.

Thought I would be the first to try these taillight assemblies. Its the pricepoint that I was waiting for. Seller advised that I should receive it in 7-10 business days. I will have to post my feedback about them as well as pics sometime next month.

Can't wait!
Nice looking forwards to the feedback. I'm about to drop some more $ into my car. I may actually be getting some results from my tune now, thanks to a base file that isn't complete poo poo. Just need to decide on which coil over I want now.

Installed the H&R springs and Corksport rear sway yesterday. As I was pulling out of the drive I heard a graunching noise coming from the rear. Back into the garage it was. This morning I crawled under there and looked things over. I found the sway bar was rubbing on the rear axles. I jacked the rear up and tried moving it but nothing doing. Back on the ground, I removed the upper nut from the end link on both sides, repositioned the sway and then connected everything back up. That took care of the problem. Just got back from a test drive, and I love how it drives now. The true test will be after the wife takes a spin.

I'm not sure why the sway bar rotated the way it did, I'll be keeping an eye on it the next time I jack up the rear. That rear sway was the worst I ever installed in some regards.

Yea, sounds like it swung the other way when the suspension was loaded; I'm guessing you used the tightest (second) hole then (also for anyone else,, links should be put in place while the suspension is loaded). And yes it's a b**** to access, I use the hobby shop on base and just lower the rear subframe with a jack under the rear diff so it's not just hanging by the prop shaft.. saves a lot of time/effort and gives you way more room to work with (ofc you can't do that with the FWD).

I almost bought that step. It's also a great warning for some tailgaters. I leave my hitch receiver on for that very purpose.

Hmmm... what are you planning to "step up to" with that?
It will come in handy to step up to wash the top rear of the CX 5 and also to reduce the chance that others could bump into the bumper.

I hear ya on the hitch receiver. I do that as well.

On my Explorer I usually get some great following distance as well with two empty red gas cans and an empty propane tank on my rear cargo carrier :-)

(rlaugh) for some reason your comment reminded my of a Ford Pinto my parents once owned...

Put the stock springs back on the CX-5 this morning. My wife drove it twice with the H&R springs (about 100 miles total) and said she hated the ride. I left the Corksport rear sway on though to give a little better handling.

WOW! That was quick. For me the ride is marginal. The real payoff is how much better the car looks hunkered down a bit. I can certainly understand how some would not see that as a worthwhile trade off. However, ever time I pass I CX-5 jacked up at it's normal ride height I smile. I was never a great candidate for CUV ownership!
PS: Will you be able to return them?

I loved the look, but as my wife is the primary driver she is the one who has to be happy. If you look at the list under my avatar you'll see I have several choices of fun cars to push the envelope with. Realistically there is no need to have the CX-5 be any better than it is. The rear sway has corrected most of the body lean so I'm happy with that. My wife is happy too so it's a win-win.

I would not try returning used parts. I may hold them for a bit to see if I can change her mind, if not then I'll sell them.
