They did... From the get go. It's called the 2013 CX-5 Grand Touring. The commander knob would be nice.

Anxiously waiting.. already got parts to swap over and will be going full on form there.
I'll stir the pot without spilling ��
- A dual USB port where the current power port is near the shifter and connected to the head unit.
- A totally new head unit running Android and WiFi to update via your home or hotspot.
- Relocate the current gear (when in semi- manual) display to the Info pane and make it larger.
- A light that will illuminate the rear cargo area properly, the current light is useless.
- Toss the lower plastic door sills as they 1. Create wind noise and 2. Let dirt though at a certain unknown speed because wind separates the sill from the door jam.
- lights on the door controls.
- get rid of the glossy trim on the dash, passenger side and middle console, it scratches too easily.
There is more but it requires heavier mods of the body and interior...

You got the parts for the commander knob?
I rarely use the commander, only use the back button really, another cup holder would be more useful IMO.

woops, I was either reading a different post or missed just left out the rest of it; I was referring to the sky-d/a more powerful gas and he aftermarket parts I have.
'15-16 Mazda6 reported to get ALL AUTO window switches with illumination.
Ah yes, but even the Touring model of the Mazda 6 has dials for the manual heater controls. Not sure why they didnt use those same/similar ones for the CX-5. Not a biggie but annoying

i'm the opposite. I never use the touchscreen, I use the commander. one nudge up and a 3 notches to the right gets the usb menu onto next track. (the same as on the steering wheel)
when in random track play the passenger can then just press down on the commander for another random track without fingerprints on the screen. saves a few arguments when something less appealing to the passenger is selected. I dunno, whats wrong with eurovision or rammstein? (2thumbs)
I keep a small microfiber towel to keep the screen clean in the console.
