The Ohio Auto-X and Track Event chat thread

Will, that course layout looked fun! Especially that long, fast right-hander towards the end.

That sweeper was awesome! Flat out in second gear as long as you could keep the car in line. All-in-all, it was one of the best courses I've ever ran.

LOL I agree, people need to chill out and enjoy the car for what it is. Just because it doesn't come with a crapload of HP from the factory, doesn't mean it's a slow car. 200hp in a light car like the BRZ is enough. Just think about it this way...The BRZ weighs about 2760lbs and comes with 200hp. A brand new MX-5 weighs about 2500lbs and only comes with 167hp. So why don't we constantly hear reviewers saying the MX-5 needs a million horsepower and it's s***??

I agree! More HP would ruin the car in my opinion. I never thought once, "I wish I had a little more oomph out of this turn." As-is, the car is extremely easy to drive at the limit. I need to find someone willing to let me co-drive their NC Miata for a comparison. Haha. :)

I would change the full exhaust on a BRZ, just because I love the sound when you do.

My bro-in-law has an exhaust on the way from Nameless. Should sound awesome when he gets it.

I would like to. I know Marc and Marlon mentioned going too. Wednesday, April 23rd.

Would you go too, Peaches? I didn't want to go solo, I get skeerd.

edit- am I just retarded or can I not find where to register for the Trackcross?

Okay cool, we'll meet up and cruise out there. I sent Marc a text seeing if he's still hip to it.

edit- Marc said he's still up for it if the RX7 is done by then. (fingers crossed)

Those do sound quite awesome. I remember when Jason finished that design and sent me a sound clip. Damn is all I could say.

It will depend on what my workload looks like. If I can play hookie from work that afternoon I will go.

Got this reply from Pittrace about the track cross:

Evan;
Thank you for your interest in Pitt Race. We do not have a pre-pay or registration for Track-X at this time. Registration will open at 3 pm on the 23rd in the main office. $60 per driver on the day of the event.
If you have any other questions please let me know.

I wonder if it fills up and if we will need to be there right at 3?

Well, I get off work at noon and it's about 1.5 hours from here. I don't foresee it "filling up". It is a Wednesday after all... And I doubt they would want to turn anyone away, no? Shut up and take my money.

I have no problem being there at 3.

Is that on the way?

I have a bunch of walkie talkies that we used to use on the farm. I'm sure I can find a handful of them that work still.

No, Will. It's completely out of the way. That's why I mentioned it...
