Met another (former) MSP owner in Austin last week during SXSW. He ran up yelling 'Mazdaspeed Protege!' and I showed him my car as we talked for a bit, used to have a titanium as well.

They are still popular down here, I personally know 4 MSP owners and I see others at least once a month. Seems like they are always gray, black, orange or yellow.

What Facebook group is this?
The only cover I know of is the one that holds the seal and bolts to the block and the MBSP. It's pretty thin and could be broken if mishandled.
