Corksport Lowering Springs Installed

Nice pics really showing visual difference between 17's and 19's.
For me, the wheel size difference becomes less noticeable once the wheel gap is lessened/eliminated. But that's from someone who would rather not invest in a new set of wheels if I can get away with just lowering the car.

My view is somewhat different regarding perceived wheel gap, which is why once a owner does upsize (plus 2" for a 17" to 19" conversion) they often feel the need to lower the vehicle afterwards.

Reason is the relationship of sidewall height (shorter sidewall of the 19" for example) to the wheel gap , wheel gap stays the same given proper tire sizing/rolling diameter. But because of the change in relationship or ratio of sidewall height to gap, the perception is of greater wheel gap with larger diameter wheel. It's a common visual issue with modded cars at least (sport coupes, sport sedans, roadsters).

Regardless I do hear what you are saying when it comes to the CX-5. And to me the stock 19's look far better on the vehicle than any other stock wheel (and using stock springs, retain that well-engineered comfy ride/handling combo). TexanCX5 pictures really show that, especially when he put 19's (yaah man) on front, 17's on rear (eeewww).

I will grant you the 19s look better proportioned than the 17s, but that's partly because you're making a direct comparison in these pics. My plan would be to lower the car first (probably using H&R springs) and see how it looks with the stock 17s on my Blue Touring. If that gets me 75% of the way there, I would probably call it done. However, in the spirit of never saying never, if I were to see a set of stock 19s for a reasonable price on ebay somewhere down the road...?

This is exactly where I stand. I dont have money for more wheels so if a set of 19"s shows up for a good price.... im all there.

Yea, no way I could have those springs with my wheels without damaging the fender eventually.

That FD.

Or at least translation in English would be helpful...

I personally like the look of the smaller 17" rims over the 19". It reminds me of the BMW's of the past that would have smallish wheels and more rubber + they're lighter weight. Very nice look TexanCX5.

Hey TexanCX5 , would you be able to measure the ride height from fender to the wheel / front bumper / side skirt to the floor . im still curious how much low it drop . ? cheers :)

Anyone tried Eibach? I have my "standard" CX-5 and still confused which spring should I buy to replace my stock spring.
Any suggestion?

Eibach does not offer springs for CX-5 in the US, so you probably won't find too many opinions here.

Texan, that shot of the two 19s, are those stock 19s from the dealer that were painted black (wheels and tires)?

Yes, those are factory 19s. Surely you're not thinking of doing that to you new Soul Red GT?!
