MPG Performance

I've been paying close attention to the "Current" MPG readout a lot while driving. One thing I noticed when trying to find the sweet spot at highway speeds is that anything above 70mph the MPG rating drops bellow 40mpg to roughly 37. At 65mph it goes to up to 43ish and then 60mph gets it close to 48. I think 55mph gets it above 50mpg but I hardly ever go that 'slow'. (drive)

This is with a 3iT manual by the way.

What has everyone else been noticing for their cars?

I never go by that thing, although its good to use and adjusting your driving habits haha I always just calculate my mpg whenever I fill up gas. So far both fill ups I got 29.5 mpg on my sGT.

At 26.3 mpg so far, I blame the gas since its all winter blend around here, well that and bad traffic.

Right about 30 for me. I'd say I do 25% city, 75% freeway. I'm expecting it to get better with more miles. I also cruise at 75. I'm going to try to do 65 next week and see how much better it is.

I haven't filled up yet, but the on-board computer reads 33.0mpg through 200 miles of driving. I'm probably at about 40% highway and 60% city/rush hour traffic.

We'll see how she does once I fill up and can hand calculate and get a few more tanks under my belt. I keep finding reasons to take the longer way home at a detriment to my fuel economy. Such a fun ride.

Question, how many gallons does the tank hold?

After a week of having the sGT, my average is around 32-35 on my drive to/from work. That is mostly highway driving.

Although I'm not sure what to make of the averages, if I watch my average mpg on the dash it is usally 30.x. Current mpg jumps all over the place, even 99.9 mpg. LOL.

When I picked up my sGT the dealership must have really topped off the tank. I calculated 37 MPG on a 300 mile all freeway trip.
I took the same freeway for the same distance, filling up at the exact same pump as my previous fill and it calculated out to 34 MPG.
Now with some mixed town and freeway driving, the car is estimating only a 25 MPG average but I have a long way to go on the tank yet.

My last fill up was only 22'ish mpg...thanks to the evil "sport" button :D I was having too much fun. I'll go easy on it this time and see what I get lol My longest commute is only 8-9 miles mostly and it's about 4-5 miles freeway, mostly traffic =/

stop and go really kills mpg's. When I go to West LA/Culver City area it usually kills my mpg's especially on the 110 heading into downtown LA.

@lowincash I think I saw your car today lol

haha where at? I think I only drove around sunset blvd today :D

I've only see one white S Touring sedan, a white S GT hatch a soul red i Touring sedan and a black i GT hatch. I haven't seen another blue reflex though

Ad the car 2 days and fuelled up once at 3/4 tank and once at 1/8 tank.I'm averaging almost 35. But now the break in period is over, so time for fun! Lol.

Nice, almost 35mpg is really good! How close would you say the computers readout is to the actual mpg you get when calculating Gallons/miles? My old cars varied, usually over estimating by 1-2 mpg. Funny, none of them ever under-estimated.
