What are these holes for?

Was under the car this weekend. While taking off the engine trays, I noticed these two holes that didn't have any bolts. I have two separate trays underneath. Is there a 3rd one I'm missing? Just curious.

I noticed the same thing on mine, and as far as I know there isn't a use for them. I asked the same question and didn't get a solid answer about any uses for it. But dang, I wish I could say under my car was as clean as yours! haha

Could it be the mounting spot for an optional skid plate maybe? I know in other markets they had AWD models, and they may have other skid plates and other underbody protection available.

I would guess it has a purpose on some other models outside the US, we had such limited options for the engine and drivetrain.
