why Mazda is so cheap?

Hey,

I have noticed that there are too many buttons in my "2012" CX-9 has no lights (sunroof open/close/tilt) - door lock/unlock - windows passenger/rear - mirror - garage door opener all 3 buttons . last night I wanted to open my garage door and was looking for the button like blind that is so stupid ..

This is not a Mazda issue--this is industry wide. Look at your window buttons--only the driver's window button is lit; it's my understanding that they used to all be lit. All companies are finding ways to trim costs these days...

The homelink buttons not being lit is the one thing that bothers me about my new CX9 GT. I am unable to see them at night and have to feel around for them or turn on a light.

I've had 4 cars with HomeLink, including Acura and Lexus; none of them were lit. I did have a '12 Lexus loaner when my car was being repaired for a warranty issue, and THAT loaner car had illuminated homelink on the mirror (same type of mirror as my CX-9, with the illuminated buttons plus compass).

My 2006 Toyota Tundra that I traded for the CX-9 had Homelink buttons that were lit.

Most vehicles have advanced backview mirrors from Gentax. Their buttons are not lit.

My 2008 homelink buttons do not light up. Only have a green on/off light between doors 2 and 3 buttons. Gives me target anyways.

The only unlit buttons that bother me are the door lock/unlock buttons. Makes no sense to me in a $35k vehicle.

My homelink button doesn't light up either, but easy enough for me to find it by feel since I only use the first button. But yes, I agree, door lock/unlock button is annoying when you have to unlock the door for someone in the dark...and always forgetting which is lock and unlock.

The HomeLink buttons are not supposed to light up. The mirror mfg offers one that lights up, but obviously, it costs more. I've gotten used to it by feel--but it would be nice if they had the more expensive mirror.
