The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Jimmy Carr is always good for a laugh, of course he always wrecks the reasonbly priced car.

I'm glad that the temperatures are starting to go back where they should be for this time of the year. Next week is looking like some nice weather as well.

^ holy sh*t skillz! If only my parents started me with some extreme sports when I was younger. Now I'm too much of a chicken s***.

Apparently half throttle is the point where the tires break loose.

Mah bad, guys. Won't happen again. Hope it sounded good, lol.

Can anybody help, I don't know what to do with my car. I love my car but its been giving me some electrical type issues lately, first the headlights took a crap on me. The left low beam works but not the right, the right fog light works but not the left, neither front parking lights work, but the turn signals do, high beams seem fine. Then last week the passenger front window and the two rear windows didn't want to go down, so I messed with the switch and got the two passenger windows down but couldn't get the rear drivers side down. Got to my stop and the two passenger windows wouldn't go up at all. Found something online that said hold the switches up and they will reset themselves, well I did and got them up, and also released the child locks to do that, back drivers side still not working. Then tonight I get in and the letters that say what gear I am in aren't lit up but the manual m with plus and minus are lit up. Hit a bump and they came on. I just don't have any money to have the dealership look at it because that can get quite expensive. So any help or advice? Thanks, sorry for clogging up the random post with this stuff.

Sounds like a bunch of unrelated issues. The Shifter is likely just a bad bulb. If you remove the bezel you should have fairly easy but tight access to the socket. It's either a 194 or 168 most likely. Either way they're interchangable.

What user name is Kevin with the desert tan Miata on here? I didn't know anyone in our group lived that close to me.

You guys.... today is the springfield antique show at the clark county fair grounds.
omg.

Tater's i don't think i can help with your electrical issues... if it's not the lights are just bad maybe it's bad grounds? I call bad grounds on any electrical problem, i assume that's from my "how to buy an rx7" training.
I was trained by craigslist on how to find the best rx7, btw.

My car has lots of lights that don't come on- used to be one behind the HVAC controls, the shifter, and the one that lights up my gas gauge.
I couldn't see how much gas i had at night, so i'd forget about it and freak out when the little orange light came on to let me know i was almost out of gas. Petrol.
The shift selector light got fixed by me hitting it, and the hvac light needed a new light... or something, but the gauge cluster still needs me to hit it or drive over the perfect bump. It stays on after i hit it, but when i turn off the car the next time i go somewhere it needs to be smacked again. I assumed this was just a loose bulb back there... but maybe it's a bad switch or contact, and maybe you've got a similar bad switch or contact? The gauge cluster in the protege comes out very easily, so if it's similar in the 6 it wouldn't be too hard to take it out and look for something wrong.

No help on the windows... i haz no idea :'(
