The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Pablo is verse in bikes also.
You are light enough to be the b**** in the back ;)

Also, mechanically it works exactly like a car.
Clutch is on the left, brake is on the right. The biggest thing is to get used to braking evenly with your hand and your foot (front and back), but most of the new bikes have them combined anyway + abs so you don't even have to think about it.

lol! I'll pull my t-shirt around into my collar and wear my shortest pink shorts. Heyyyyy...

I used to mountain bike a lot and loved that so I'm sure I would love a bike. I just don't know much about them and would rather learn in person than reading a bunch of info on forums that could be incorrect.

Next time we're at a social event and you bring your motor bike give me a run down of how everything works. I don't want to ride it, nor would I be rude and ask. But I don't know jack about them.

I know that they only have 2 wheels...

Wait. They only have TWO wheels? Screw that. How do they stay up when you're at a stop light? Do you put the kickstand down?

I know some people here would hate it, but I recommend wearing the bright yellow bike coat when you are on a bike, simply because other people don't ever see bikers.

This is when being a foreigner (latino) comes in handy ;)

Latinos use training wheels on bikes? :D

Evan, always look where you are going (same as you do on the track); slightly accelerate, don't brake, and don't shift in turn (at least while you are learning); always think 4 seconds ahead - traffic, road conditions, weather, etc etc.
My brain usually works A LOT harder when are ride, as oppose to driving.

Nate, you can just copy/paste that, buddy. ;)

lol, that made my day

OMG that made MY day too!! LOL

ok, now for my funny story ... let me set the scene ...

i'm at my favorite chinese take-out (China Express) in Parma. I'm sitting at a table inside waiting for my order to be ready. a 50ish bald white guy comes in to pick up his order. on his way out he says to me (as i am the only one in there) "is that your mazda out there?" and with a big smile i say IT IS! (thinking he'll compliment me on it, like everyone else does) then he says "wow, you're not what i expected. when i saw that car in the parking lot, i thought it'd be a young black guy in here" ... and as usual i never come up with a good come back. i just said "you never know what to expect!!" ... i could have said "yeah, it's my husband's car" ... or "sorry to disappoint" ...

but REALLY?? do you look at the cars in parking lots of the places you're going to go into and try to analyze who's going to be in there?? i just thought that was so freakin' WIERD!!

also, in ALL of my experience with mazdas ... and you know i've been around the block a FEW times ... Marlon is the og. I can count on one hand the african american men i've seen/known that drive mazdas ... so i wonder where he was coming from .. except maybe he thought i was riding on 22's ... again, just plain WIERD!! gave me a good TGIF laugh, though!

Not to sound racist but in the 7 years I've been on the Mazda scene I've seen maybe 6 black guys driving them. A majority of people I see in them are young to middle aged white guys and gals. I don't normally type cast but that's just what I have experienced.

Since I'm not racing any time soon, how about we take the RC cars out for a spin? Don't need a helmet for those!

Who else has one?

I do. HPI E10 rx-7 with a couple mods (mostly the 20t motor). designed for drift or street. currently in street mode, in drift its fun as hell...for about 10 minutes.

I do the opposite. If I'm eating inside someplace and can see outside I look at the people and try and figure out which car they drive and then when that person leaves I try and see which car they get in.

I saw a guy walk out of chipotle today that totally "fit" his mocha latte fiat 500, lol. As far as .. African Americans .. (You guys threw me off by also saying "black" and now I'm not sure which I should use lol) living around Akron I don't know if I have ever seen any in anything but a Mazda 6. Usually impalas. Actually mostly Chevys now that I think of it. That's odd. Hm.

Anyways.

One lady last night at Menchies walked up and asked me what we were doing because it was "odd". I guess shes never seen anything resembling a car club before. I saw Ivan explaining the same thing to a couple a little later lol.

You guys are a strange looking bunch so I'm not surprised. :)
