The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

*"sunny" means that somewhere, where the smog is light, one may be able to see the shape of the sun

Nice.

My brakes squeal because my dad put one of the pads in the rear on backwards with the backing plate against the rotor...

#2, if you didn't resurface, or replace the rotors, then there is a good chance that your squealing is from the two different pad materials interacting together. I think it was StopTech that had a write up on that. In addition, some pad materials don't play nicely with some rotor materials (when it comes to high performance pads / rotors). May want to look into that as well.

Tough night at work, since I was returning from a 4 day weekend. Found out we will be working this saturday. Which is funny since we were told there would be no saturday work in the next few months at a meeting last tuesday. Turns out there was some sort of screw up in another department which caused the pieces to crack in the kiln. Nearly 60% defect rate over the weekend.

I'm watching the three part movie/episodes on Netflix about your family, Larry. The Hatfields and the McCoys. It's actually pretty good.

^i've heard that was good. Might look into netflix once we get settled in the house.

got the house closing scheduled for 5/30 at 1!

60% defective rate is atrocious

No doubt! I only hope that someone gets their ass chewed over this. There are ~50 people in my department alone that have to work saturday, and at time and a half that is a lot of money.

We have it stored on DVR so Jen can watch it. It is crazy how the whole thing escalated. They just could not stop getting payback. FWIW I am kin to them same Hatfields.

I freaking love Netflix. No commercials and it's cheap. Cable = $50/month for commercials and 3 good shows. Netflix = $8/month for movies and TV shows without commercials you actually want to watch. And they have Top Gear UK. :)

Congrats on all the house closing, man. And good luck on your house too, MonkeyAss.

I know, and it's scary. haha

I wish cable were only 50/month. Our bill is 110/month and we don't get any movie channels. Netflix sounds like a good option as long as I get to see my shows. I have no clue how it works.

I don't have cable at all. We use the over the air digital HD channels, which are free, plus netflix, and plenty of our shows are on the site of the channel if we miss them. Screw paying for cable

Netflix is at least a year (sometimes 2 or 3) behind on the shows.
As far as the movies go - forget it. Worthless.
I do love netflix, but once you catch up on all your favorite shows - there is very little use for it.

My solution - a fat internet pipe (heh heh) and a lot of links to download / stream sites so I can watch the shows ~10 minutes after they come out. Winning.

You could say I'm in the market for a new engine....any of you guys/gals know anyone? hahahahahaha Hey, gotta laugh. For those that don't check the Protege section the car died on me Saturday in CT on our way home from Brickfair in NH. One hellacious tow ride home and a day at the mechanics later, the TB broke and #2 and #3 cylinders are toast. As of now the mechanic has quoted me ~$2000 to rebuild the top end. Looking into several different scenarios now to see what my best option will be.

Thanks Nate and I thought the same Evan? Have always thought it was non-interference myself. Either way, my fault for not changing it out sooner but was under the impression if it did go, I'd simply be stranded with no serious damage done.

You bet! Since you have more knowledge than me though, can I ask you to install it? :D hehe I'd have a lot of research to do into the wiring and trans side of it.

I would suggest just using an OBD2 wiring harness and using the KL47 ECU and MAF I'll give you. That's what I had in the silver P5.

But no pressure, of course.
