Noise coming from rear driver's side shock after Corksport suspension install

I recently had my H&R springs and Corksport struts and shocks installed on my Mazda 2. After the parts were put on by a professional mechanic the rear driver side shock absorber has begun to clunk and clank, sounding similar to a blown strut or like it was loosely tightened on. I had the mechanic re seat the springs, double check the tightness and bushings and the noise is still there. The car pulled to the left before I had the parts installed, not due to me hitting anything, and the mechanic said the left hand absorber was closer to the body then the right side. I'm at a loss as to what this could be. Would an alignment sort this out? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Make sure the top nut is torqued the proper amount. I've had to remove mine a few times and re-tighten it. Next time it happens I'm going to drop some Locktite on the nut. Also it is worth checking to make sure the two top nuts are at the proper torque as well as the large bolt on the base of the shock. If I'm not mistaken the torque spec is 35 lb/ft. Corksport can correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for the responses guys, I ended up taking off the shock and found the top mount bit with the adjuster was freely spinning on the threading. Tightening it with a wrench sorted out the problem. Derrick, a little paragraph in the installation instructions would help silly mistakes like this happening if it already isn't in there (wiggle).

^ +1 on the install instructions as I plan on getting these this year, and am not excited about the fact that two people already had the same problem (fortunately an easy fix).

I am both blessed and cur$ed/tempted by living in proximity to CS. They did my install, otherwise, I have no doubt I would have encountered the same issue. Glad to see it's been an easy fix for people.

I checked my jack and spare 4 or 5 times before I realized what was wrong.

I'm going to double check mine again tomorrow. I'm getting a slight clunk again, but this time it's only when I do low-speed maneuvers in reverse. I'll post my findings, but I'm almost positive it's the same thing everyone here is talking about..

We went through our stock and had the warehouse guys get all of the shocks tighten up so anyone in the future shouldn't have this come up. As for tightening it get a wrench on it.

ok so i have both rear nuts loose... i tightened one but then there is a black metal ring between the nut and the rubber boot that is loose now and i cant get that to tighten. is there a way to raise or tighten the ring or the rubber boot or the foam bump stop underneath?

so u can see under the nut in the pic, there is a thin black ring and everything is all nice and tight.. well i got the nut tight but everything under is kind of loose.. how do i tighten the rest up?

The black ring is just a washer for the bump stop to hit if you managed to bottom out the shock. It is ok for it to be loose.
