What have you done to your MSP today?

I cut the ends of the bar off that went under the lateral arms since I have the rear bar set almost as far back as it will go.

cut endlinks, whaaaaaa? mine seemed to fit on perfectly as is... the only P.I.T.A part of the coilover installation was the rear hub after i got the backs on. it looked perfect on the one side, the other side had a decent amount of camber... but it was rubbing on the spring.

adjusted it eventually but had to make the back a little higher. will figure everything out when i get an alignment

My fronts are like that.

I set them to the same mark on the camber plate but my driver side has a more noticeable amount of camber than the passenger side. Havent had a chance to screw with it yet. Wonder if that is contributing to the amount my steering wheel is now off from being straight.

most likely... we had to loosen the bolts on the hub and pull it outward, then re-tighten them.

fixed the camber issue, although now there is little to none. tires JUST tuck in the rear... no rub. i think i'm gonna get the acc camber plates tho so i can use 17x9 wheels.

Picked up a reverse cowl carbon fiber hood, dg eyelids and a couple other parts yesterday! Needs some work before I can instal them though but hopefully the hood will be on next week sometime

hooked up my standalone again because I was bored and dialed in my idle some more. As of right now, the car has a solid idle with solid vacuum. I still need to tweak the fuel map at idle though. My idle AFR is around 12.0. So, I'll be leaning it out more towards 14.7 soon. Made a "rough draft" timing map that I believe will work, but to be safe, I won't be boosting or driving with any heavy loads on the engine until I get everything fine tuned. The fuel map still needs to be tuned in all other areas of the map as well, so the car can't be driven anyway. So, back on the stock ECU so I can continue driving the car. Planning to hook it back up next weekend to make more progress. If things go as planned, I'll be heading down to Sam at Crossover Auto to get the rest of the tuning done

Shipping more msp parts out tomorrow.....

on another note, drove the gfs parents 2011 edlebrock supercharged gransport corvette today....8psi.....510hp to the rear wheels with the paddle shift auto trans....holy s*** it's fast. Fn insane. Lol

New Michelin tires mounted and had a broken lug replaced for free by Brake Masters. (yippy) Catching up on previous posts and really sorry to see the number of folks leaving the MSP scene. I hope quite a few die-hard enthusiasts hold onto theirs and I can continue to pick everyone's brains when problems arise.

I never really tried to mod my MSP as she's my 'fun' DD so I've not incurred the problems I read about when folks go for more power. Sure, there's newer cars that output beau coup HP stock, have AWD, ESC, CRUISE CONTROL, and neat-to have options a decade later, but how many do you see on a daily basis?

I do wish they, Mazda, had done more for the engine design/construction and all the quirks everyone has bemoaned and tried to adapt to. Still, I love the lines of our MSP design and she gets deuces thrown up by Subis, Evo, Vette, Stang, Camaro, and even a Mercedes' driver yesterday! The dude that worked on my car today talked with me a little and was surprised she's 10 years old. He said that she had one of the nicest stock interiors he's ever seen in a sport compact sedan.

Back on topic, gonna be looking for new stock headlight housings as mine are fading.

Welcome to the dark side.

definitely love meat more than stretched. and that looks awesome!

That's what she said... Really though stuffing too large a tire is just as dangerous as stretching the hell out of one, especially if you actually drive the car at or near its limits...
