What have you done to your MS3 today?

dom is a pussy. it's official.

DD's 80 miles a day. 90k miles on 2007. big turbo, built motor, balance shaft delete.
waiting on some AN fittings to arrive to finish AN conversion on methanol setup.
fabbed up stainless steel meth tank and stainless steel bracket for the hatch. Meth tank cerakoted black because badass. water beads up on it like my black hair.

I drive over this every day:

Ha. How am I a pussy? Because I don't want my car to turn to dust?

All of you are pussies.

Manhattan traffic erryday

And my clutch is still holding at 52k

My suspension is destroyed however

So I go super stiff coils like a baws. Now rattles like a can

Nce because DD racecar

pshhh, undercarriage wash it every week mang. wat a puss.

DD or puss.

Every week? Try every day. It snows here every day. It's constantly wet, I'd be broke if I had to wash it every day. And it's not the undercarriage I'm worried about, it's the areas that are already showing a tinge of brown.

It's sort of hard to see but the rockers and rear wheel wells are bubbling with cancer. I see that on Protege5's, too. :(

So, call me a puss all you want. There's no one better qualified to comment on how the constantly wet roads and salt they down will destroy a car.

Agreed! I hate Michigan winter weather... constant salt and moisture in winter is just provoking the rust :(

Yeah, your weather is about as bad as ours. Though you probably get slightly less snow, depending on where you are.

my s*** with a stretched timing chain and dying turbo is still faster than dom

hell a Brent Tune is faster than dom

Natorized my front bumper

oil change

Fixed my starter, no more bump starting ftw

Pulled my valvecover and confirmed my worst fear. Timing chain slapping the underside.

Car is parked until I figure out my next move
under 70 k, its a service bulletin full warranty brother. have mine magnet-ted on my fridge from last year

Rochester salt actually kills cars. I cannot bring myself to buy another New car and drive it in the shitstorm of salt they use here abouts. My speed 3 is still clean except chips. that happens when you keep her on jackstands. with a bad timing chain and half apart half put together for years

Got tires put last night. Idk if its the fact that i have tread now or because i went back to a 40 series instead of 45, but i feel like the original handling is back. Corners just got fun again

And i need gas

timing chain is not a warranty issue, lmao. It's the VVT, if the VVT is making obvious noise on startup and is bad. Big difference between the two.
Timing chain premature wear isn't totally unusual, but it isn't common.

You are right.
special service bulletin (ssp ) 87
Warranty extension program 2006-2010 speed 3 etc.
Strange noises started and i found my timing chain was/is very loose. I expected the tensioner to be no longer functional.
The timing chains are unlikely to stretch (true ) but it is clearly covered in the warranty. As i mentioned my service tech was aware of the issue with the L3T motor.

@ericrapp

I know this is thread-jumping since I saw your comment elsewhere, but the tires I got are great, the service was facking retarded (see " pissed off " thread)

Ive lost all faith in anyone working on my car but me. If only I had the proper tools for all car related needs

i feel ya brother.
I have one shop for tires. and try to do the rest myself. Too many horror stories.
as for what i did today. nothing but just the other day i put my deposit down for JMF sheetmetal intake manifold with meth bungs.
Should be another good learning experience for me : )
I hope i dont have to learn it the hard way like i did with axle replacement lol

Ordered new tires, Federal 595EVO's... downsized to 205/40 for my 18x8+30 350z wheels. Federals run wide and the 205's are the same width as my 215 Toyo Proxe 4's
