The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

4.2 miles to work, 4.2 miles home. That's most of my driving.

Amber's Escape does all the family driving but in just over a year and a month it has 13k miles

Damn, you got me beat, Nate. I drive 4.7 miles to work and 4.7 miles home.

Where are you moving to?

buying my brother's half of my mom's house. Just makes the most economic sense and will be twice as big as our apartment and about half the rent. Probably not until spring/summer time.

My MPGs went down from 28 to 17... as much as I like the truck, sometimes I feel like taking the cheap route and keeping the miata trailer and getting a cheaper beater

Where are you guys driving?! I've put 9500 miles on the 2 between 9/11 and 12/12. Up until earlier this year my wife was driving 90 miles a day and even then we've only put 43k on the Jetta from 8/10 to 12/12.

about 8 miles to work, 8 miles from work to gym, then 8 miles home from the gym in a goofy 24-25 mile triangle every day

weekends i run all over the place, trips home to the rents house about once a month is around 400-450 miles (roundtrip) not to mention any races or visiting friends that live out of town... AND for the first 2 years i had the 3 i was traveling a good bit for work (got mileage compensation) but since work travel has slowed im down to about 15k or so the past 2 years

LMAO... I said sometimes, haven't decided anything or even looked at other cars. I knew MPGs were gonna drop, but having your gas budget double does hurt a bit

Well Peaches passed on the sub/amp combo. Anyone else interested? $75 is a good deal.

JBL 12" speakers, Crossfire Tek 75.2 amp.

I know, that's why I'm looking at skyactiv 3's :)
They are nice. ;) I'm sitting around 32 mpg on the first 700 miles. I end up around 30 miles a day if I just go to/from work (only 25 if i pedal my butt to work). I'm close to 15k/yr. I get to drive to Cincinnati Friday for Toyota training. That should give me a chance to check highway mileage. That 6 speed really helps on the freeway.

32 mpg's is spot on for the combined EPA mpg's.

They don't let you take a car from the dealer for that stuff??

That's cool. That's definitely a good move and you'd still be in Westerville.

not quite Westerville but pretty close, but unfortunatly Columbus Schools. Gives us 4 years to save up more money towards a house in a better school district.

It's done nothing but go up since I've gotten it. I'm anxious to see what it does after the 1st oil change. I've heard rumors of mid-high 30 mpg if you take it easy on the skinny pedal.

HA! Not these days. I'm lucky they have a vehicle to use for parts deliveries. Besides, why in the world would I wanna drive a Corolla 4 hrs round trip? It'd be nice if they paid for my gas, but I doubt it.

Sweet, more room and more money for the baby! :)

we just did that with our apartment complex a couple months ago

lol and good excuse as any to go car shopping. ;)

Yeah that will def. hurt but like Levi said you have been nuts lately. You are going through cars faster than my dad back in the 90's.

Hmmmm...will have to look at photos when I get home. Have always wanted a little junk in my trunk. How about you ship it for the price of that manual mount? hahahahahaha

Those are no rumors Chris but what fun is that?

I used to drive 60 miles one way to work 5 days a week and on top of that I did a lot of driving for work on top of the commute. I was averaging like 30-35k miles a year for a couple years. Now I'm doing a normal amount of driving.

Yes and Yes. When comparing the MSP & skyactive 3 they are alot closer than I thought.

weight: msp 2843 vs. 3 2896 (manual)
hp/tq: msp 170/160 vs. 3 155/148
Interior room is almost dead even
Skyactiv kills in the mpg's of course; 27/38 on 87 to the MSP's 21/27 on 91+

downside will be no woosh from the bov, rarity and car payment/less in the savings account, maybe a little more in insurance.

upside will be a working car (that's a pretty big upside), less headaches over things not working, lower noise level (even with the stock exhaust on the MSP), factory warranty (for now),cheaper fill-ups, and not feeling the need to mod alot because of factory short comings. That's not to say some mods won't be done over time.

Well when you decide to get rid of the truck let me know... ;)
