Hey all!

Well my Wastegate Actuator is on its way out the door and I was planning on taking out the turbo, DP and Exhaust Manifold to replace it since according to what I learned on here, its actually easier to change the actuator that way. Since I was gonna do this (maybe) I figured I'd go ahead and throw on the Pope DP I have lying around. My question is this: Is there an easy way to mate that DP to my stock exhaust? I am planning on doing a 3" Exhaust but I can't atm cuz of $$$. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks! :)

PS: Since I'm removing the mani, turbo and DP, is there anything else I need to change other then the Exhaust mani gasket?

because of the age of the car, make sure you have a new gasket for the 5 bolt flange. I think Outlawstar ran the P.E.P. downpipe on the stock exhaust while he waited on his 3in exhaust to show up

It will be almost impossible to form a good seal between the DP and stock midpipe so you will have a pretty big exhaust leak. Grimmspeed sells a 3" to 2.5" reducer that a lot of Subaru guys use (but the flange is the same as our exhaust so it'll work with the Protege as well) so that's as close as you're gonna get, but even then you'll have a pretty hard time making it seal with the tiny diameter stock midpipe.

I utilized the OE flange on my 3" exhaust and it's sealed fine. When I first installed it, however, it didn't seal well, though after replacing the OE exhaust with the 3" and using the OE flange, I was able to get it sealed well.

Cool, I'll look into that, hopefully it'll be ok for the time being. I actually have pretty bad exhaust leak right now actually, can't be worse than that lol.

orrr you could just sell me your pope DP and i could put it on my 3" exhaust...

Keep dreaming lol.

Btw guys one more question: Are there any gaskets or hoses for the oil/coolant supply to the turbo that I need to replace?
