The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Just throwing this out there, my good friend here at work is selling his 1998 Honda CR-V for $1k OBO with 250k miles. He lives in Cleveland so a lot of those are highway miles and his parents owned it before him.

Just throwing it out there for anyone looking for a winter car AWD FTW, baby. I'd buy it but we haz no room at the house for more cars. haha

Hmm... That's very intriguing. How is it mechanically? Any rust?

Will, he said he will snap a bunch of pics tomorrow morning. I'll email them to you. He said there are some small spots. He said it was serviced about 20k miles ago. And the B20B is a good motor. Heck, it's a Honda. But I'm no salesman so I'll shut up now. I would buy it myself but I don't think I need another car right now.

Jess, you can probably get anything sideways.

Shoot me those pics too if you can, Evan. The 17 yr old daughter of a friend of the family just got her license a few weeks ago, and needs a car. She's still in high school, and works part time at Taco Bell, so she doesn't have much to spend. And, AWD would definitely help her through her first winter...lol

not completely on the topic of the CRV but I've been thinking about getting a cheap truck lately for a beater

Those CR-Vs are pretty bulletproof. The wife had an 01 up until a few months ago and it was very reliable. Even with that much mileage on it, it'll still start every morning.

Never mind about the CR-V. The Accord my friend was supposed to buy had transmission issues, so he's keeping the CR-V for a while longer. Sorry, guys.

way to get everyone's hopes up

Indeed. but I'm getting sick so it won't be a productive weekend.

I'm sure it would be a blast to drive but the styling isn't for me. The red rpf1's are sexy and the side exhaust does look good.

It HAS to be a productive weekend here. I have to have the 6 finished by Monday morning to drive it to work.

I would love to be productive, change rear brakes pads & rotors, change belts and hope squeaking stops, get new tires moutned (shop hasn't responded yet) & get an alignment for starters. Need to do a whole lot more but I know I won't have the time.

Well, I really don't want to have the wife drop me off at work Monday before she heads out to class.

I like the idea, not so much the execution. I will say though, it looks sexy in the video more than the pics!

The idea I love, the execution I hate terribly. :) I didn't see the video though?

Actually, the more I look at it the more it grows on me. Biggest problem is the same as the Atom, can't drive it if its raining...
