As far as i can tell it has not been repainted. The clear is coming off in some spots but i might be wrong. The car has 203,000 miles on it. As far as ride height it might be the way i am parked in the grass.14 inch tires as well i am sure thats gotta leave a big gap between tire and fender . It will be changed soon i hope. Justgotta keep the wife on board with the upgrades lol.

Any time you see body colored rocker panels on an NA, you can be pretty sure it's been repainted. This is what it looks like factory (painted black).

To my knowledge there is no clear coat on the '91's paint unless it was added aftermarket.
At 200k miles it should've had the TB/WP service done 3 times (every 60k) and most recently at 180k. If that hasn't happened you'll want to make sure you look into it. I'd also check out the suspension components as the rear is higher than stock should be.

I went out and looked at the paint today. I havent driven the car since I bought it and I havent really been able to do anything much to it till my top comes in next week. Anyways it isnt Clear coming off its Red paint ontop of red paint coming off so I am guessing its been repainted and they sprayed a glue over origional paint for new paint to stick on ( sounds like something Maaco would do LOL ) also on the TB and WP they were just done two months ago then the previous owner bought a newer Miata and sold this one to me. I will be upgrading the suspension soon. I took out center console and noticed both boots under the shift boot were almost gone to the point that they look missing so this project comes before suspension but its all Money that has to be saved one week at a time.

NA01-64-481B (Upper) and M514-17-480A (Lower) are the part numbers for the shift boots you'll need. I replace mine about every other year as they rip pretty easily. www.finishlineperformance.com is a great place to order them as well. (2thumbs)

2013 MX-5 Club Edition. Not mine...yet. But I test drove it yesterday. I put on its first mile, gave it its first burnout launch, and its first redline all with the cup of gas from factory that was just enough to drive 2-3 miles. The gas tank has never been filled. Such an amazing car.
The dealer said trim wise it was equal to touring in features offered, but that this Club Edition is a limited edition model with a very small production run.
I wouldn't let your goofy ass drive anything!
