189 hp... my oh my
But how much will the MPGs suffer?
If this is the case, 189 hp that is even more reasons to wait on next years model. Anyone know how early in 2013 would you expect to see the 2014 models?
Is it worth it though? It looks like the Mazda3 lost 2/4 mpg going from 2.0 to 2.5 liters (old engines), but only gained 19 hp.
The SKYACTIV gains 34 hp, so might lose a little more, so.... maybe loses 3/5, making the CX5-2.5G around 22/26 mpg (AWD auto)?
I dunno. Love to have the power, but... it's not supposed to be a sports car lol. Decisions, decisions...
Do you think it'll be available with the Touring? With the Mazda3 and Mazda6 it seems the larger engine is only availiable with the Grand Touring...Interesting. The 2.5l will be an option. My guess is that only the touring and GT will offer it and it will tack on at least another $1.5k+ US to the price, probably will come with other mandatory options. Also guessing 22mpg with that engine.
Hope any upgrades to the info system are available free to current owners via software upgrade.

Sure, makes sense, problem is I was about to get a Touring with Tech, so it'd be maybe a $3,400 increase to go from 2.0 Touring to 2.5 Grand Touring. OuchPersonal preference is a GT so for another $1.5K I would prefer to wait.
