nah plenty of bmw, saab, mercedes, lexus, toyotas, even the MS6 all have stock HIDs

hids are illegal when they are not in a dot approved hid reflector. most times that means in a projector housing, but in some instances car manufacturers made reflector housings intended to be used with the longer hid bulbs.
