Are breather filters just for turbo'd cars? I feel stupid asking this, but I honestly have no clue...

Just remember to cap the intake side

After looking at your pic, I finally realized where it went...(doh)...thanks though

cant you cut the egr's tube recirculating to the intake and put a breather there too?
Thats where I thought i saw one last time.. O.o

That's how it was on my 626 intake mani that was on the car when I bought it. No CEL's and worked just fine.

You can see where the EGR tube was cut and the breather filter mounted in this pic.

interesteing u got no cell. and just left egr valve bolted on and connected ?

Yeah, all the EGR and VTCS/VCIS solenoids were still plugged in. I got a cell when I deleted my cruise control because I unplugged a MAP sensor.

um got the info on the fitting ill need to block off the connection on the header for the tube?

oh you baller lol.

hopefully evan does lol. i dont wanna take header off to then take it to get welded etc :/

Ummm, no. Sorry, buddy! There was a cap on there already when I bought the car with the header. I know there is some info around here about what thread size works from Home Depot Racing.

Why are you adding a breather filter?

I replaced the PCV with a breather filter. My purpose was to keep the PCV from sucking oil and fouling the intake. The root problem is the worn rings were bypassing and pressurizing the crankcase.

So if you replace the inlet with a breather - you have only changed how the inlet air is filtered (via airbox and now a seperate breather). If your PCV stays clean/oil free - then go for it! I just want to make sure you fix the right problem ;)
