Running stock T25 do I need an oil reducer?

Ok I've had this MSP for about 4 months and since the day I bought it it's been dripping small amounts of oil out of the blow off valve and so every 2 weeks or so I pull off much of the aftermarket intercooler piping and clean the oil out of it and that's when I add more oil to the crankcase as well I probably lose a full quart Every 600 miles or so.. It had been annoying to have to do these things so often. But I didn't have the money for a new turbo and I didn't care to upgrade to anything other than stock.. So I was waiting till I could find a lower mileage used one and I finally found one a few days ago and I plan on swapping this weekend but I've had conflicting info on if I need a reducer in my aftermarket oil feed line... Some people say I don't need it with a journal bearing turbo but some say I do... I need this turbo to last a decent while so I need a good solid answer to help ensure that.. I do have an aftermarket stainless braided line on it now but I have no idea the size of the line because I didn't purchase it the guy before me put it on and so I don't know if that could be the reason my turbo seal is blown in mine to begin with. Please give me your input if you have any. Thanks

I've heard the a journal bearing turbo needs more oil and a ball bearing doesn't require as much.

I appreciate the responses but are you guys sure about no oil restrictors? I put the used low mileage turbo on this weekend and have the same problem... Only worse about twice the oil being sucked into intake manifold.. Im starting to wish I had got that truck I had wanted.

Welcome to the MSP

What brand is the turbo? Probly a knock off of a chinacharger. Journal bearings and the china chargers do need oil restrictors because they are only designed for 30-40 psi oil preassure. Most cars run 50-80 when run hard, when you don't run an oil restrictors it will blow the seals.

Op- go get your money back

I bought the identical MSP t25 garrett with a MSP serial number tag on it and everything.. It was being sold From a guy on eBay with lots of good positive feedback he had upgraded to a disk potatoe He claimed it was working perfectly when he took it off his MSP. I genuinely trust him too just trying to figure out if there is something wrong on my end.. Oil lines, crankcase ventilation, air filter, oil drain , drain positioning stuff like that.

I get oil blow by to the compressor of my china charger, and I get drips from the bottom of the compressor as well.
According to cxracing journal bearing turbos need 1.5mm restrictors and ball bearings need 1mm.

That's false, bigger turbos need more oil smaller needs less. You can't say a gt25 turbo needs the same amount as a gt45

To the OP, change your PCV valve I was fighting the same thing, only I was going through a quart of oil every gas tank. I thought for sure the turbo was blown, but I was going to replace it as a last resort, so I started checking everything else. The PCV valve tested fine, but after I replaced it, my oil consumption stopped completely.

Thanks for the advice.. But I had already tried that and didn't have any luck.. I upgraded to the millennia supercharged one.. But didn't help at all. My turbo has 125000 miles on it just time for a rebuild.. I shipped it to Ocala to be rebuilt with high thrust bearings and other upgrades

Can someone please tell me if I am suppose to have a plastic reducer in my rightside valvecover breather hose not the pcv breather the hose off the right side of the crankcase...?? I found a plastic nipple in mine just making sure that it is suppose to be there. Thanks

No, that is weird. The breather hose is nothing more than a hose that runs from the driver's side of the valve cover to the intake.

If there is a plastic reducer the previous owner put it there to try to stop oil from being pushed out the breather hose into the intake, or to reduce the amount of air the engine is sucking in from the breather hose.

I tried something similar but only succeeded in making my car whistle at idle.

Thanks

Thanks...I'm trying to figure out why I'm losing so much oil when I have two stock MSP turbos that have little shaft play at all.. It's frustrating not knowing what the previous owner has modified or messed with... I wanna get this car running proper it's my daily. I'm gonna set up a catch can soon.
