What if.......

I had a thought last night before bed, How cool would it be if someone did a RWD version for the two? I mean if Tanner can have his scion TC in rwd, why not make a big Turbo 300 hp RWD M2 for drifting reasons. It would get the M2 aftermarket industry off to a explosive start.
I know it seems completely out there since the m2 is concidered a commuter car and not a perfornace car, but what if.... it was?
Somebody do this, I would attempt it, but I'm not rich, I dont know how too , and most of all I wouldnt even know where to start. But this is possible, If you build it, they will come...........

Short wheelbase cars tend to not do too well in the pro-drifting scene where big-power and long-sweepers are the norm. I recall there being only one or two miatas for this reason.

shortwheel base+rwd+lots of HP and sudden boost=no good. it would be amazing for donuts. if you want an example. i made a 500hp rwd mazda2 in forza. and i couldnt get any traction or keep it straight. it was terrible. they have to make it AWD Like the 323gtx. but for what it is. even with 250 (the max id say go on such a small car) its good fwd.

they finally have a rally version (look at the sexy intake manifold!!!!) so im a happy camper.

YEAHHHH BUDDY!!!

I would say the driver is really familiar with the roads, no notes being read and it sounds like he is wide open most of the time.

should be since they are testing the 2. im pretty excited. cant wait to hear how it does. hes some big Australian rally driver. i mean they are upside down over there on that side of the earth. must be hard to drive.

Ken Block is the man! Maybe they can make the Mazda2 a low carb Monster version.

Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it but if you have ever looked at the rear suspension of our cars it will be painfully obvious how much work would be required to get a drive shaft, diff, axles, new rear subframe and suspension AND brakes to function if it were set up in an FR layout.

Tanner Foust's tC costs more than $100,000 to build.
And his little Ford Fiesta AWD Turbo with 600+ HP costs more than $200,000.

Time. Time=money. The purchase of the car and the parts probably only cost roughly 40-50k? The R&D and fabrication is what I would assume ate up the rest of the money.

It's not crazy to think a top tier shop would charge quite a bit of money for labour per hour. Converting a car to RWD, dropping in a new engine and changing around pretty much everything else is neither quick nor easy. It is what it is though.

look at hennessey. time certainly equals money.

but you do have to rememeber the only thing these drift/rally models share with the road counterparts is the body which still is modded with vents and lightweight s***.

group B was the same way lol "OH YEAH THIS IS JUST LIKE THE RALLY CAR VERSION JUST....EVERYTHING THATS NOT THE RALLY VERSION"

theres ALOT of engineering and time and money that goes into making these work.

tanner goes into detail on his fiesta about how its made and such. with the outrageous engines and suspension. ******* awesome cars is what they are.
