And the wrx was good till after the 07 when they went to the dumb hatch style.

WRX always stayed in sedan, STIs were only available as hatch for a few years (i personally hate and would never buy a hatch)

@biz: Some are trying again but even the 12 isn't crisis in the pants cool to me. Don't get me wrong It's a cool looking car. It just doesn't have "it" still to me. Just my opinion not hatin. I'd drive it.
 
Sorry to chime in late, but welcome to the Mazda family where you'll spend days and nights on the forum either looking up things or bs'ing with some good people. I'm on my 2nd rebuild for the bottom end of my MSP. I haven't had any problems with anything, but the oil pump and bearings. Love her to death though and will never get rid of her. The nice thing about the MSP is they are pretty easy to work on or rebuild (the trans I know nothing about though). Good luck on the build and see you around on the forum.
 
Hmmm I really really hate the 10s I was thinking of buying one when I sold my 8 and honestly yeah they lool good but they are massive boats handling is dead and it feels like a luxary car the real race car feel died with the evo 8 and 9s those were the last road monsters the feel and the steering wheel the small compact feel and uncomfortable seats lol my evo 8 has crank windows no sound dedening material no radio etc from the factory it was meant just to be a race car.. the new 10s are super heavy super quiet and the mr version overheats with 2 1/8th miles passes .......

My favorite evo is the evo 6. That's a monster 2000lb 300hp awd

As for.boobarues there will never be a better version sti than the 02 03 wrx sti bug eyed..

All the new designs of these Japanese cars have lost touch with function and are leaning more toward makeing things look fancy plsatic interiors with chrome trim
 
Hah I really like the 1.8 coil conversion and I'm sure magnecore makes wires for the 1.8 so I could do a 1.8 magnecore conversion eh eh!

Agree with the evo 6. disagree with the bug eye it was the gc body style that was the best 92-00 i think. and agree with the Japanese cars (really it's most cars). Everything is so "safe" anymore.

Onto your progress. You never answered about the mags (nvm). when you do the fmic are you going to take out the old smic? if you do you'll need a fullsize rad.
 
Yep out with all the old pipeing and smic y would a new a full size? Street unit makes radiator brackets so u can retain ur old rad... and I'm going to powdercoat the vc gloss black so I think I will go with the 1.8 coil conversion but try and find some magnecore wires for it aswell just so it lookes nice in contrast
 
the 1.8 coil wont work with the msp valve cover (not sure if your talking about pcing the msp VC or the 1.8 VC). why keep the old rad? I think it will look awkward in the bay. Good things are coming lol
 
All in due time lol I jump head first into cars engine bay is going to be super clean and if I have to run the 1.8 vc even bteer cuz I can get it sent out powder coat and still be able to drive vs removeing the vc and haveing the car sit...

Glossy black vc with red wires
626 mani sanded down to smooth out cast and powdercoated red
Greddy catch can polished
Greddy breather for rad polished
Brushed stainless ic pipes and intake all black couplers and tubular exhaust mani ti wrapped down pipe
Nrg polished hood dampners
And a polished rad with a spal fan lol and polished t25 compressor housing with braided oil lines
Car is gunna look sick


Evo was all go somewhat show
Msp all show no go or she'll blow haha
 
Keep me posted on the powder coating. If I can do my own good enough I'll do yours too!
 
Feels nice to back in cali vegas was fun didn't win big broke even lol anyways gunna change the oil and sparkplugs today allso gunna clean the maf and egr then a seafoam treatment and a bubble bath
 
awesome hahaha roday was dedicated to my msp. i changed the sparkplugs cleaned the egr did a seafoam treatment and changed the oil and filter retared location for a filter btw hahah
 
grr low idle and cel ARE driving me nuts .. allso y is it that every thread on here are dead no one updates anything .... to many threads on here with good topics just fade like the wire tuck harness etc

What CELs do you have?
 
It threw a p301 fuel system too lean I allready removed the egr cleaned it and thre it back on its so weird my car idls at 500 then drops down to 200 100 rpms wants to die then comes up again to 500 its runs fine with the ac on tho cuz the rpms will idle at 800ish.... if I drive and go into neutral the rpms drop really quick and car dies. Car allso seems to hesitate allot underboost
